Will's been outta nbs for about 3 wks now. I may sell a few, but I'm planning to hang onto most for the next babe-to-be.
They don't fit for long, but it's nice to have them cause they fit so much better than smalls those first few overwhelming wks!

I hear ya! DS is 9 weeks and 15lbs. I wish we'd had the next size larger diapers sooner because he really could have graduated out of the newborn size at about 4 weeks, or maybe 6 weeks.
I'm not thinking about selling the newborn size dipes yet. I'm saving them for the next baby (although to be honest, I'm hoping that before the next baby gets here I'll have the funds to buy unbleached cotton prefolds in newborn size because they're much softer than these bleached ones.)
But that newborn size is essential for those first few weeks because there's no way my 7.5 lb baby could have used these gigantic "small" size prefolds! lol...

My little guy is small. 6 weeks old and just started to really fill out newborn clothes. He hasn't outgrown his diapers yet, but he has enough of the next size when he does from his brother's old diaper stash. I'm also gonna sew some diapers if life will give me some time...
The newborn ones will be sold after my youngest baby outgrows them since I'm done having babies. Kind of sad in a way, kind of liberating in another.

Newborn diapers lasted 3 weeks. They were mostly borrowed, so they went back ages ago. I put away all of ds' 0-3 month clothes at 4 weeks, and we're in the last 3-6 month clothes now, mostly wearing 6-9 month stuff. <sigh> I more or less planned that Elliot would follow a similar growth curve as Karen, so all my stuff is way off. Karen didn't start wearing 6-9 month stuff until she was about 9 months old. Elliot is wearing longies I knit planning for him to wear them next winter!
I don't get it. He's not that huge. He's a week shy of 3 months now, weight maybe 14 pounds, and perfectly average in length. Karen wasn't that tiny either, at about 25%ile for height and weight through her first year.

All prefolds here. Covers are wool or proraps. E is on the smallest snaps of the M proraps, and I put away the last S this morning.

Yep, NB Mutts are about all Will still fits from his NB stash. Most of his dipes were XS VBs which he outgrew around week 3 or 4. He's almost ready for Medium VBs, which I better get a move on sewing up! Thankfully, he should be in those for a long, long time.
BTW, did anybody try the new OV Swaddlebees? I just ordered one, it came in the mail today, and oooooooh, so yummy! Too bad they're way too expensive to make an entire stash out of. It was a splurge to buy just one with a discount code!

lucy can still wear her nb ov mutt on almost the tighest snap setting.... she's following the path of her older sisters -- long and skinny. not sure what she weighs at all, but she's not tooooo skinny, just so long that she looks skinny (does that make sense at all?) .. anyway, she's not chunky. i was hoping maybe someday i'd get a chunker... still time though
i really do need to get more dipes made for her. i have more than enough dipes left over from katherine, but i want to sell all of my 'purchased' dipes (other than pfs and flats) and go with an all-homemade stash if i can. i have enough material.. but gosh, i'm lacking the time!! ... louie still fits into all of the dipes i made, but she's *totally* outgrowing the rise!!

Tharen outgrew most of his nb dipes before he ever even got a chance to wear them.
We just had his two month appt and he is 13lbs 2ozs of chunky love.
We have also sold off alot of the smalls. The only thing that still fits is small fb's. He is shaped like his daddy so he has a big round belly, but then a tiny waist and no butt what so ever. So alot of types of diapers just plain don't fit. I am saving up for an all bumgenius stash for when he moves out of the last of his smalls. Hopefully those will be the last dipes we buy till potty training.

My oldest baby uses only Fuzzibunz and Joey Bunz Hemparoos (or some other hemp insert that's just like Joey Bunz). I like Fuzzibunz for older kids mostly because they're trim and allow ease of movement.
I have to admit, the last month of my pregnancy and until about 2 weeks ago, my DH and I switched to paper diapers. Seventh Generation diapers, but still paper diapers for the oldest baby. Strangely, my 2 yr old started kicking us during diaper changes and asked to go back to cloth diapers and so we did, and it's been great. Not as hard with 2 in cloth diapers as I thought it would be (though I had twins in cloth 14 yrs ago, but I was a young little vibrant thing then
).
We went back to putting him in his FBs and Hemparoos, along with a rice paper liner during the time of day when we expect a poo. We just peel that part off and it pretty much gets all the poo off the diaper without rinsing. It doesn't work for breastmilk poos. At night we double his Hemparoos and put a wool cover over his FB to keep him from leaking. We've also been putting Fuzzibunz on the newborn part-time, and wool covers for sure at night. The FBs tend to leak I notice with little babies.
The only thing I don't like is mixing the diapers from the 2 babies. I don't know why, but it icks me out. I'm thinking of getting a hanging diaper tote, the one that Mother of Eden makes, or some WAHM made one if I can find one.

We love Fuzzi Bunz on Tharen. They keep him feeling dry and even though he is a heavy wetter we have never had a leak. I stuff with a micro fiber towel from target (they are about $4 for 12) and a hemp insert or doubler. I also like cotton babies one size micro inserts. They also fit him well, and they have nice leg elastic that holds in at least most of his explosive poos. Kearnan would never use FB's before, the micro freaked him out (he has SPD). But since he has been in therapy he will now wear them, as well as other pockets. He is a scrawny thing, and even though he is 4.5 the larges are kind of big on him so we have been experiencing some wing droop. Doesn't affect how they work though. I am trying to get him some Petite Toddler fb's. I am trying to get to where we can use pockets on both of the boys exclusively.

Luka still uses NB prefolds but they barely fit- I have to use the "bikini twist" and the ends only touch if I really pull them tight. I'd never be able to pin them- thank goodness for snappis. He never fit in the newborn sixe covers, and is in mediums already. He outgrew his 0-3 mo. clothes at 6 weeks. I have no idea what he weighs now, he was 9 lbs. at birth and a little over 11 lbs. at 4 weeks, and is 8 weeks now.
