Here is my version of the birth. We are doing very well and Praising God for his wonderfl blessings and watching over us durring this birth.

Ok so I am sure you want the scoop.
As you know we have been quite anxious with all the start/stop early labor but the baby is here. I still can't believe it. Almost no contractions Friday night or Saturday so I had a wonderful night and day of rest. Ofcourse I ended the day Saturday with a nice round of cleaning. (Wonder why) My back was hurting so bad, no contractions, just nerves or something so I woke at 1:30 to sit on my excercise ball and just roll my hips. I leaned over the arm of the couch and did this for about an hour. Then returned to bed around around 2:40. I had my first contraction at 2:45 am. Pretty good but almost felt good and I couldn't wait for the next and the next and the next to come. They were about every 3 min. and I just laid there on my left side hoping they wouldn't go away. I didn't want to get excited so I stopped to pray and ask the Lord for his strength and protection and to PLEASE LET THIS BE IT Gabi was in our bed and began to stir a bit so I offered to nurse her in hopes the contrax would be strengthened. They were At some point DH (James) was moving around in bed and I whispered and asked if he was awake. He said yes and I asked him to call my best friend who lives over and hour away to go ahead and come. He popped up quickly and I told him not to get excited I just had a feeling and didn't want her to miss a bit. I stayed in bed till 4:30 and my best friend arrived around 4:45. I tried to stay busy walking, talking, didn't really want to look at the clock, I breathed and sometimes moaned through the contractions. At some point I asked my friend to call my doula. I had already called my mom who lives like 5 min. away. She arrived around 5:00 and my doula around 5:30. My sister came in just a bit before the doula and quickly started rubbing my back. By that point the contractions seemed more intense and I was having to remind myself to relax. She and my doula took turns rubbing and applying pressure to my hips and back and shoulders. They were so awesome. I don't remember when I asked someone to call my midwife but she arrived around 5:30. I was pretty focused on contractions when she got there so she waited about an hour and asked if she could check me. At 6:45 I was a good 6 and completely effaced with bulging bag of water. James had been trying to get the pool filled all morning and had resorted to boiling water on the stove. I didn't care that it wasn't completely full I wanted in the water. I got in and it felt great. My doula continued to put pressure on my back and hips while I was on my hands and knees in the tub. I remember changing positions in the tub several times but it didn't seem very long before I started pushing. Everyone was so encouraging. They said I started pushing around 7:30 or a bit after. I tried hands and knees and then sitting and ended up squatting. As her head was coming out I felt like I was going to tear so I started blowing instead of pushing hard and tried to ease her out slowly. My husband got his wish and got to catch the baby and my hands were there too so I helped pull her up out of the water. She was covered in THICK THICK vernex. So much that she couldn't open her eyes. I am not sure how long we waited but I felt like I needed to push again so I thought the placenta was coming and didn't want to deliver that in the pool so we cut the cord and my hubby James held her while I got out. I squated beside the pool and pushed gently and delivered her life source. I had hardly any bleeding and NO tares. We had a very fast but uncomplicated birth. Just 5 hours from the first contraction to her birth. She was born at 7:43 am. Sunday morning February 12th. 9lb 2oz. and 18 3/4 in. Basically short and fat
God was watching over us. We feel so blessed to have had such a quick an uncomplicated birth.

I had a really good friend from church that watches the girls for me sometimes come and get my youngest daughter Gabi (18 mo.) She woke up around 6:30 and Sarah took her around the corner to my sisters house and She and my Brother in law got all the kids ready and took them to church. They brought her home after lunch and a short nap. It was such a big help.

My oldest daughter Breaunna (will be 4 early April) was there. She woke up on her own about 20 -30 min before the birth. She was excited but decided to play on the computer right up until she was born. When we said It's a girl she got upset and pouted and insisted it was a brother named Elijiah. Later that day she brought her favorite puppy in the room and had wrapped it in a blanket and put socks on all it's paws (we put socks on Krisalyns hands to keep her from scratching her face) and declared that the dog was her new brother!

I am doing pretty good. Had a much better night last night. She only woke up twice. I needed the sleep. DH has not been the best help with that part : She is opening her eyes more and my milk is comming in. She LOVES to nurse and be swaddled and continually cuddled. Both girls are interested in her and giving lots of attention.
