Serenity - the movie - Page 4

Driving in a beautiful island off the coast of Australia I saw a cool property named Lothlorien. :

I'm a big LOTR fan. I wanted to give DD the name Elanor after Sam's firstborn daughter but DH wasn't going for it.

Arwyn - Your parents are cool. At least they picked one of the prettiest names from the book and not Lobelia or Belba.

From what I have seen after the movies came out, the most popular Tolkein names are Arwyn, Elanor (normal-sounding, but yet still Tolkien-related), and Legolas.

I know someone who named her DS's middle name "Elessar" which I totally love.

I think Lorien would make a really nice name.

Well, all the names from LOTR are just Welsh names, anyway (at least for the most part), so it's not like they're just fantasy names. Arwyn is a classic (male) Welsh name. (ArwEn, as in the books, is the female version, but my parents liked it with a "y" better.)

I like Eowyn and Aragorn, but I really couldn't name my kids after either my heart's rival or my lover.

: Ah Aragorn and Legolas. *sigh*

I tried to talk DH into naming DS1 Strider, but he wasn't having it. And he's such a Tolkien fan, I thought he'd be all for it. But no.

I love the name Arwyn! And if I ever had another daughter, Eowyn is at the top of my name list, DH be damned! (DS2 and DD both have Welsh names, so it would fit perfectly.)

Ooooooh! Wasn't Caleb freaky!

So has anyone here heard that Inara may be WonderWoman? I think I read it on IMDB, can't remember for sure.

: Joss, would you adopt me?

I've also heard that Morena (Inara) might be Wonder Woman. I think she'd be awesome, don't you? She's got the gorgeous dark hair. She's strong and feminine. I think Morena has the right look and the acting chops for the part.

You got that right. I named the family's '78 Dodge Maxivan 'Doris' when I was a kid. And she looked like a Doris, too. And it would have to be a she, it was as big as ship. I have many happy memories of family road trips in that van. I learned to drive in that van. My parents helped me move into my first apartment with that van.

I tried to think of a name for the '99 VW Passat, but it just never came to me. Maybe I'll name it Serenity.
