Hm, the question is, was that part of my mucus plug or just some jelly-like discharge? What does the mucus plug actually look like? I'm picturing something with a more solid shape than what I just saw. This was just a clearish blob of goo along with some wetness. Hm, any hints from those who've actually seen their plug?

Probably part of your mucous plug, but again it could mean things are imminent, or it could regenerate. I have the amazing regenerating mucous plug that I have been losing chunks of for 10+ wks. It just regrows. I won't get excited until I see blood. But that is my body, yours may be feeling more cooperative today.
Glad to see I'm not the only one obsessing over various bodily discharges.

I didn't see a definite mucus plug with my first two births, but I did with this one...about a half hour or so after I posted here about having never seen one! It was just a huge glob of mucus, brownish/grayish - not solid, but when "bunched up" together on the toilet paper it was about the size of a hefty grape (probably TMI here, but you did ask...when I went to the bathroom and started to wipe, I realized there was this slimy glob of mucus hanging down from me into the toilet - I thought "What the HECK??" and wiped it onto the toilet paper, which was not easy to do because there was so much of it...then as soon as I saw it I realized "Woh - that's my mucus plug!!"). After that happened, I had bloody show every time I went to the bathroom the rest of the day, and Ian was born early the next morning.
If you had a small amount of mucus, it could be part of your plug, or it could be just discharge. Don't ya wish things about going into labor weren't so darned vague?!?

I've lost what I think are pieces of plug, on three separate occassions (all 3 just happened to be the day after having sex, lol). The first two times it was in a "glob", and was partly translucent, partly cloudy...yellowish in colour. Yesterday it was more in little bits, and I had some each time I wiped. It seems completely different from regular discharge, so I'm assuming it's plug! Nothing pink or red yet for me though.
