Also known as:
Keep your feet away from your sister, stop using the really loud toy train, stop throwing large echo-y plastic containers, stop screaming at the top of your lungs while dancing and stomping, and please please please stop banging into the bassinet that I finally got her to stay asleep in after carrying her all day... :

GENTLE, GENTLE....you have to be gentle with the baby. good....no wait don't poke her....stop poking at her...gentle, you have to be gentle!

I say those exact words 500 times a day.

i visited a friend's house last night so i can actually join in on this one right now...
no, don't poke him in the eye..
well, when you get really close to you, he will punch you b/c he doesn't really have control of his arms and a huge toddler face about an inch from his is probably scarey, esp. when he doesnt see it every day.
and yes, he's hungry, but there really isn't room at this boob for two, so could you back up just a tiny bit sweety?

i feel for you guys!

Okay, so Evan wants to poke Drew in the eye all the time! He even asks me, "Can I poke him in the eye?" What's up with that? Are other toddlers doing this too?

Beth honey you can't hug him THAT hard.

Get back a bit honey, you are smothering your brother.

Beth, you can't have your face that close to him all the time...you are going to scare him.

I know you just want to kiss him, but you don't want him to get sick so you?? So only kiss him on the top of his head or his feet.

No, Beth I don't think you can tickle Ben yet...his tickle isn't turned on yet.

Beth can you not walk on the bed when Ben is laying on it...you almost stepped on his head.

Beth PLEASE stay off Ben's blanket when he is sleeping, thank you.

BETH, turn DOWN the volume on the computer it is going to wake up your brother!

On the whole though she is pretty good. She runs up and downstairs getting stuff, grabs the phone/tv remote/burp cloth/nursing pillow as I need them and LOVES to "play" with Ben. He gives up his share of smiles for his sister too .

And Beth's favorite thing to do w/ Ben... she holds on to both his hands and shakes them gently back and forth and says... CHEESE Gromit, CHEESE...like Wallace does on Wallace and Gromit!

Thanks, you are all making me feel better. Ok, not really better, but at least I have company.

DD woke DS 4 times this morning between 6:15 am and 8 am. No wonder he sleeps so well at night.

Yep it's like that here too.

It's bed time stop screaming

It's still bed time stop screaming

It's bed time, the baby is asleep, please stop talking

No it is not time to play telephone, the baby is asleep

I am going to sleep, don't wake the baby

And at nap time

I know you like Dora, but do you have to scream the theme song

Don't slam that door

No the baby doesn't need you to poke him

Please stop screaming

don't you just love the fact that on dora they say, "say it louder! louder!" and ds does, so he's screaming. i just *love* that they encourage kids to scream that loud. <sarcasm>

My 2yo does just that: "Louder! Louder!"

are we all living together?!
"k, for the love of all that is holy, will you please stop screaming? you don't need to shriek every time you see m is asleep. really you don't. please don't try to give him his toys when he's sleeping, he needs to nap, he's a baby, he needs to sleep a lot, i know it's boring, but sleep is good for him... s*&%, he's awake again." :

lol...this thread is cracking me up.

in my house (or car) when samara is crying my older ones will argue over who gets to sing a lullaby. so then they both try to outsing eachother as loud as they can.

So, what is up with getting RIGHT in the baby's face. give the poor kid some personal space, would ya?!

When Luka is asleep Julian screams "wake up wake up wake up!" right in his face. I have to literally push him away, sometimes to another room.
We also have the "don't walk on the bed, you almost stepped on your brother's head" problem.
And somehow, Julian's feet always find Luka's head when they are both nursing.

It's amazing that second (or third, I can't even imagine!) children survive infancy.
