LOL it can be very true if the teacher's are not aware or don't care how the children are treating each other. And that's not always just the other kids but other parents are often not nice to certain children...and my parents being both educators not every teacher treats every kid the same. Its the big IF, but there are certain kids for whatever the trait is that makes the experience not that pleasant. There was a kid with ADHD in my son's daycare when I went back to work for three months...the kids were afraid of him, they didn't want to include him. And the teachers did everything pretty much right but kids are kids.

The thing is, preschools do *not* run a background check on everyone who interacts with the kids -- witness the several people here who asserted that they were classroom volunteers. (Naturally, I am assuming that every one of the people posting here is a person who would never dream of abusing a child and in fact deplores child molestation). I am wondering if you folks who volunteer were requested to submit to a background check and had your character references checked. If you weren't, are you comfortable with the fact that this means that your preschool didn't check the backgrounds of the other volunteers? Maybe so -- and in fact, I sincerely hope you are -- but I would not be.
