dd has little red bumps on one side of her face, and now she is geting them on her head, how do I treat them?

Leave them alone, and they'll go away, eventually. I know they look terrible, but they don't bother her. They're from your leftover hormones.

My baby developed hers between 2-3 weeks old. If you think it's an allergy, you could do an elimination diet. Here is the source I read when my baby developed it: http://www.drgreene.com/21_639.html

Michael devloped his after he left the hospital (at a week old!) They almost definitely are jst baby acne. You can try the elim. diet, too.

If it were an allergy the bumps would be everywhere, not just on her face. She would also have other signs of allergy, like a constantly runny nose, and a permenant red ring around her anus. Don't sweat it, it's most likely acne and should just be left alone. It will disappear in it's own time. Don't do the elimination diet unless you have taken the baby to the pediatrician and are sure it's an allergic reaction. I had to do the elimination diet with Gracie (she was allergic to peanuts and eggs). It sucked big time!!!!!

Yep. It's completely normal and should clear up on it's own in a couple of days, and I second on the waiting for more allergy signs before heading the elimination diet route. Be careful about what soaps and detergents you're using that come into contact with her though- some babies have REALLY sensitive skin.

If it's really bothering you, squirt some breastmilk on there. Don't worry! Your baby will regain that beautiful skin!!

DS has this problem too, and it started at about 2-3 weeks as well and spread from his forhead to cheeks, sides of face, ears, head. I called the ped and she said he is probably too hot and I should try not dressing him as warmly and wetting his face periodicly with a wet washrag. It hasn't helped at all yet though, so I don't know if that's really what it was.

I'm a little concerned now though because he does have a constantly running nose and redness around his anus, but he also has thrush and we've been dealing with a diaper rash along with that so who knows? I'm probably of no help to you, but just passing on what the ped said.

Are you cloth diapering? I am using pocket dipes (also used them with my other babies) and my ds has diaper rash--not bumpy, more smooth and open looking right where his poop would be in his diaper.
I don't know what to do to get it to heal. My doctor doesn't want me to use "natural" diaper ointments since he had a problem with Baby Bits.
He had a real blazing red and bumpy rash the day I tried Baby Bits for his wipes solution; right away, we switched to plain distilled water to wet his wipes, and the rash cleared up the next day.

So, since I know his skin is somewhat sensitive, I'm not sure where to start with determining what is causing his problem on his bottom. I change him quite frequently, so it isn't that there is poop sitting on his bottom often (it's obvious when he is pooping, so he is changed right away.)

Any ideas?

what are you washing your dipes with? do you double rinse? my suspician would be that it's something to do with the detergent, rinsing out well.

My little guy has baby zits. I think it's kinda cute I put breastmilk on them. I put breastmilk on everything. Diaper rash? Somebody mentioned that? Breastmilk Our diaper wipe solution is water w/TTO and lavendar oil. Our TTO bottle is broken (can't open it) right now. WHen we use the wipe solution though, not a drop of redness on baby. We let baby butts get air too. We're trying to EC (um, yeah...not exactly...) so that helps with diaper area stuff. Anyway, back to baby zits -- breastmilk Clears it up really well, though I noticed I have to keep it up to keep it at bay. I don't really care, only cared last week when we were going ot have pictures made (he cried, no pics happened anyway) and my MIL wigged out about it. Ah well. Breastmilk is good for everything! It cures cancer, ya know

Namaste, Tara

I use Seventh Generation and Sportwash. I do a prewash with Seventh Generation (or just water and no soap) and then a full wash and extra rinse with Sportwash and then another wash and rinse with no soap at all.

I will try the breastmilk...I have an overabundance since Drew sleeps and sleeps and then I have to pump just to that he can latch, etc. I've used it before for stuffy noses and such, so this may work. He has a irritated belly button, too--I give it a try there, too.

Funny thing about the cancer cure...I had a stash of "old" (over 6 months in the freezer) milk that I gave to my mom to feed my dad who had lung cancer last year. I'm not sure if she ever did give it to him, but we weren't going to tell him when she did.
