This is wonderful news!

I've been keeping my mom updated too because I've been inspired by your family (making the best out of a situation, as my family has with our own "stuff"). They came to visit last weekend and I was finally able to show her a picture (the Maggieroo picture) and she got all teary-eyed. She just loved it.

You've got a lot of fans, little one - !!

Give my best to your Mom, she should know about being a fighter! Maggie does have a lot of fans and she will not let them down! She is gaining more weight and taken BIG poops and still gaining so we are thrilled.

When I was doing Maggieroo care this weekend, I heard a samll explosion it seemed and then I felt something running down my chest. Sure enough she pooped on me. She of course was in Maggieroo care with DH for the last hour not feeling the urge and he passed her to me and she did it. We were laughing so hard as the nurse was scrambling seeing if I was ok. When other parents heard what was happening a smile broke out across the row and two other Dads gave Bob a thumbs up that he missed being pooped on thinking I didn't see them. I was so thrilled since its been a while since I have been pooped on. It made my day that she did something as normal as this

Yay - for the poop! The boys always save the best for me too - it's great being a mama, isn't it?

We are thinking Maggie will hit the 3 lb mark this week. She is downing the breastmilk (w a bit of fortiefier) every feeding and going real well in the poop department but still gaining everyday. I have never been so happy for poopy diapers and big blow outs.

This is so sweet, thanks - I will tell her, and then she'll cry again, and then I'll cry!

I'm so glad to hear that Maggie is just cranking along, and had to chuckle about the "joy of poop"...I love it.

..
We go each and everday and most days a few times. I have been going after dinner and staying until about 11pm and just hold her and stare at her at least 3 times weekly and DH goes the other nights. Tonight we are a bit tired w the time change this week and staying up late so we had a much longer visit this afternoon into evening. On school days we both go when dd is in school.

Its not really a weight issue but what can she do. Can she breath on her own? Can she hold her temperature, can her heart rate stay normal, can she tolerate feedings like a full term baby, can she do all of these things at once?
There are full term babies in there who cannot do these things which is why they are there sometimes.

Today Maggie did non nourishing breastfeeding. During her scheduled feeding, where the breastmilk and fortifier are put into her feeding tube, she was latched onto my breast. She took about 3-4 sucks during the feeding but latched on and stayed there. So its a start! Still I was thrilled...

Oh, Maggie always makes me cry!
That is so wonderful that she latched!

Gorgeous! How much does she weigh now? She looks so "old".

One of my neighbors had a daughter at 25 weeks..she is now almost 2 and I saw her the other day...wow. She is a totally average (size, etc) two year old! She was just released from physical therapy already and is thriving! In the grand scheme of things, it doesn't take long for those micro-preemies to catch up, does it??
