Need some no poo advice. I have been no-pooing for two months. I use a baking soda paste as a scrub with comb through about twice a week and just a water rinse another two times a week. I have short, very fine, and naturally oily hair. I found that both ACV and lemon juice make my hair very greasy requiring me to baking soda it more often. I don't like to do that because it seems harsh on my hair. Also when i used ACV, despite rinsing it out very very well, my head smelled like vinegar for a full week and still does when I use a blow dryer. That was three weeks ago! I have noticed a small amount of flakes in my hair.
I went and got my hair cut a couple of weeks ago and my stylist mentioned that my hair smelled and that I had a lot of flakes. This despite the fact that I had just freshly baking soda washed an hour before the appointment. Dh has also mentioned that my hair smells. I am a bartender so I am in a smokey bar many hours a week.
What can be done about these two issues? Dh says that he thinks it is actually my head that smells and not the hair. And I am thinking that if there is a flaky build-up it would retain smells. So I am thinkign that solving the flakes might also solve the smell. Is there anything less oily than ACV or lemon juice I could use?
I really need to figure this out because I "converted" a few of my friends and they think I know everything
If I have a stinky, flakey, head, they are going to jump ship.

I was using WAY too much acv and have diluted it more. I also added tea tree oil to it. Keep us posted, would love to hear if you find a good solution.
