Advice/opinion solicited on gassy baby with food allgergies

My dd has never been REALLY gassy and never colicky. At 5 weeks, she seemed miserable after I had accidentally eaten dairy, and at 6 weeks, she had a bloody diaper that was diagnosed as allergic colitits, so I began the elimination diet.

DD is is now almost 10 weeks and has been great on sicne I began the diet. I ate 2 eggs yesterday AM and last night began her first episode of horrible, screaming, can't console until she passes it gas. She had another this morning.

Can two eggs really be the cause of this, I wonder? Before the elimination diet, I ate eggs for breakfast most mornings and she never had gas like this.

1) does gas get worse as they get a little older before it gets better?
2) What are non-food-allergy possible causes for this gas?
3) Is all the rice I am eating in the elimination diet causing her constipation and gas?

I can't stand seeing her cry or in pain and any theories would be welcome!

I can't offer any advice, but I can comiserate. Dd was terrible last night with gas and green poos. I cut out dairy a while ago, but it didn't seem to make much difference so I've got no idea what caused it. anyway I'm doing just rice today in an effort to get some sleep and maybe be able to cope with her.

So I'm sending hugs your way and hoping we both ( and the little ones) have a better day.

It really only takes a little bit sometimes. My little guy is majorly allergic to dairy- if I accidentally eat anything with hidden dairy (like whey or casein), he projectile vomits at every feeding for 2-3 days, not to mention the screaming.
Most allergies don't show up until 6-8 weeks, so even if you ate eggs before the elimination diet, there's a good chance she is allegic.
Good luck! Hopefully she'll feel better in a day or two and you can get on with your happy (but food deprived!) life with babe.

Oh thanks for mentioned that scary projectile vomitting! Yes, she did that too, but in 24 hours, it basically passed.

My lactation consultant alwasy said it took about 24 hours for an irritant i the breast milk to work its way through the baby.

Yes, so no eggs for me!
