I had my 38 wk appt this morning. I am a "stretchy 3cm dilated, 80% effaced & babe is at zero station." My doc kept saying how low the baby's head is, no kidding ! She said I must have to pee a lot - yea, that's an understatement!

I can feel the head when I walk, sit, go to the bathroom, etc...it IS really low. I don't think this boy is going to be as big as everyone thinks, I think my estimate was 7lbs,12oz - I'll have to go check....if I can remember what thread that was....

I'll be 39 weeks on Thursday. On Sunday the lentil was head down, right anterior (my mw said she'd rather see her over on the left, because it's less likely to go posterior, but that this is fine too). I can feel arms and legs all over the place! She is really packed in there. She only measured 38 cm, though, which we attribute to her changed position.

I still haven't had ANY vaginal exams, so I have no idea if I'm dilated or anything.

I feel really good, but tired sometimes, and appreciating that I don't have to work. I do have a lot of stuff to unpack though. Tomorrow. Today was my day of No Work.

Tomorrow I get to interview pediatricians. Fun! I have no idea what to ask.

Well, I am getting anxious to have this little bean. I had a little scare Friday with MW visit. The baby's heart rate was 190. I drank a almost a litter of water and the HR dropped. I ended up getting a cold this weekend with a little fever. I seem to have recovered now. We checked the baby's HR a couple of times this week and the HR has been totally normal. Whew, that was a little freaky. I have contractions that are a quite intense but they last for minutes at a time. They seem to settle down some at night. I would like some regular contractions that last a short time. Even if they stop after a short time.

Still here, hanging out. Had refular ctx, 7 mins apart for over 2 hours last night, but they stopped when I went to bed, like they always do.

I had a MW appointment this morning and I had a MUCH better day today. Yesterday I was miserable and in pain and just crabby as all get out. I had a very nice day today with my son, we got a lot done and I am in a much better place today. Here's hoping it lasts!

I am so crampy and backache-y and having so many ctx that it seems like one of these days I will SURELY have a baby. Right? It's going to happen, isn't it? One of these days they won't stop, and she'll come out. I hope.

39 weeks 1 day today, according to ovulation. 41 weeks 2 days according to LMP and that stupid 28-day-cycle calculator.

MW appt this morning - 70% effaced and 2cm dilated - I'm REALLY ready to meet this babe. My left hip/pelvis has been killing me for almost two weeks now - absolutely kills to walk. Chiropractor says it'll clear up after the babe arrives. I sure hope so!

No other real news to report from this end of things... Best wishes to all mamas on the brink of delivering!

No news here! Only 35w5d so that's JUST fine with me!!

Sounds like lots of you ladies are getting close! How exciting! I can't wait to start reading all the birth stories and seeing pics!

I typed out a big long post to this thread yesterday, but it darn got et. :LOL

I'm at 37 weeks, and feeling pretty good. I can't concentrate at all, and am dropping things and tripping. I fell down at the bottom of the stairs after a hard yoga class yesterday. Yikes! I think the stress of an unfinished dissertation is starting to get to me--I can't focus 100% on the baby, nor can I buckle down and get to work. Uggh.

The baby's dropped, though, so I'm breathing easier. That feel sooooo good. And I feel achey and heavy in my cervix/perenium area, so I guess those are good signs, too. No ultrasounds, no internals, no labs, so I really have no idea about those statistics.

Sending gentle birthing vibes out into the cybersphere to you all!

Finally something... 35 weeks and 2 days (though I think I am actually a week or so further along than that). Went to doc today, she says my cervix is shortening and he's moved down a bit. I thought I'd be scared to hear that, but it sort of excited me. We're at the beginning of the home stretch! I'm shooting for March 20th...1st day of spring, plus my favorite doc will be on call that day!

I have been a horrible klutz lately too!! I ruined the one maternity shirt that still fits me by getting it stuck in my coat zipper. And forget typing!!

Today is the first day that I really feel like I'm ready to be done, no regrets. Baby is low, its hard to drive, the cold weather is torture, I have one pair of (ugly) shoes I can fit into, and I said goodbye to my wedding rings this week. I'm looking forward to stopping work - also since I peed my pants there today after a good sneeze!!

Appt on Friday to check for any action - crossing my fingers that things are at least getting started!

Ok I thought it was just me! I know your balance is off, but I have been so klutzy with things that have to do with only my hands. I can have both feet firmly planted on the floor and drop what I am holding. I have broken dishes, glasses, just drop everything.

And eating?? Why in the world does having a belly mean I cannot get the food INTO my mouth?? and where does it land? not on the napkin in my lap because it can't get that far......its lands right on my boobs and belly! LOL

to that commercial they are showing on TV lately. The one for the laundry detergent. The very pregnant woman in her favorite pink shirt (or maybe the last one that fits!) constantly dropping food on her belly.

However, my belly hangs out of EVERYTHING now. I have given up. Due date is Monday.

Have just vacuumed my floors - had been in denial about how dirty everything has gotten (note number of pets in my sig) - am completely crazy now and have to sit down. Hormones, ya think?

Good news about the belly shelf, tho - excellent for holding newborn babies, if you happen to know any just now- have been visiting with a three-week old, and she is very comfortable on my tummy...

Add me to the messy/clumsy list! Your tales are cracking me up, mamas, and making me feel MUCH better about the olive oil/ice cream/tomato sauce stains on the upper belly parts of all my shirs.

I'm exactly 36 weeks and nowhere near labor yet. Had an internal exam on Monday just to confirm baby's position. (She had been persistently transverse, but FINALLY turned vertex and engaged so low that my MW could barely feel her head from the outside, and wanted to make sure that she was indeed vertex.) Thanks to that exam I found out I'm 0% dilated and 0% effaced. Which is just fine with me. It's too early for DD to be born, and the longer she waits, the more of my maternity leave will fall during the warmer months. (Here in MN it's still very wintry.)

I'm with you Tine. My 36th week starts tomorrow and while I really want to give birth at this point, I know it's best that she waits till March 30th. I'm hoping to take leave until July 15th-it's like a Summer vacation, but with loads of work and responsibility.

The baby is moving a lot lately and my body is slowing down. I just feel so big and uncomfortable, but today, the real countdown begins. March 1st!! I'm very excited.

A wee bit of news here

Well were in our 37th week here...and getting a weee bit anxious...Its weird though becuase I actully feel like I am not gettting any bigger *confused*, anyone else feel that way? I am getting lots of contracts...movement but very different then they were...baby is responding alot to the voices around him/her so thats pretty cool...LOTS OH DISCHARGE ...tmi I am sure..lol...I havent had any internals or anything so I am not sure...but I feel like "stuff" is starting to happen...I am getting this pulley, stabby feeling in my cervix...I remeber getting it with my other children...but can't remeber what it means..lol...not sleeping a whole lot...lots of pressure in the butt..*grins*..is the baby will come out though right? like this isnt jsut a big joke to get me a big as a house? lol

Phoenix I am also in week #37. 3cm dilated and 80% effaced for the past week with no change, but lots of anxiety over it seeming it should be any day now!

I also feel like I am acctually getting smaller, not bigger. But I think it's just where baby is perhaps? My breathlessness has gone away so I am guess the baby is way down (lightening), however, I don't feel as much pressure down low as I did before....it's gotta just be where baby is or something.

some discharge, not alot. rectal pressure, yes. not sleeping much here either.

21 days to my due date.......DD was 3 weeks early so we've all been COUNTING on this one to be as well....so far, not cooperating. well, except for the 80% effacement, that's go tto mean something right???? i can't walk around like this for 3 MORE weeks can I ??

Do you feel alot of pressure when you sit on the toliet as well and tender when you wipe?

I feel crampy and a lot of pressure WHENEVER I sit, whether it be driving, at the computer or on the toilet. I often think I have to poop, only to sit there and realize it's just pressure.

As for tenderness.......it does seem a bit tender. DH and I had sex the other night and I really wasn't up for any kind of external stimulation, but once he was in me it was fine! sorry, TMI

yep yep yep...thats here as well....but now DH wont even "go there"..lol...being that the contractions after last time were NUTS...lol..and he says, his words not mind.."Itll seriously give me a complex if I pull anything out with my BEEP" lol
