I have a 5 week old and love my hotsling for the most part. But my sling tends to fall off my shoulder if I wear it while doing house work. I have a size 2, I fall between a size 2 and size 3. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong? Could I have the wrong size? TIA, Micky

It sounds like it's too big for you. I should be between a size 3-4 (I think) by their sizing but I like a size 2 for the same reason (it falls off my shoulder)

Could be the wrong size. Can you try to do a shoulder flip to pull your baby in closer? They may help for a short while, but you may want to have it taken in a bit for complete comfort. Depending on how long ago you purchased it, the retailer may be willing to do an exchange. It's worth asking!

Thanks. I did send her an email to get some help. I worry about going a smaller size because I already struggle to get my little man in. I feel like I have to push or shove him in which makes me think the pouch is too small already or just right. So if I went smaller I worry I wouldn't be able to even get him in it. How do you do the shoulder flip?
Thanks, Micky
Thanks, Micky

The shoulder flip would probably fix your problem. I think she has pictures of it on her website under the usage section but if not, all you do is flip the top part over so that it's down your arm/shoulder a bit. You know how once the sling is on, you have two layers of fabric on your shoulder? You take the top layer and unfold it down over your shoulder. This tightens the whole thing up.

Here's the link to the picture. It's at the top and to the right.

I'm growing more and more fraustrated! Okay I tried the shoulder flip and it only felt like it was going to fall more easily off my shoulder, I'm not sure it works in the craddle hold??? I have been emailing with the owner of hotslings and she has been very responsive but nothing seems to help. She felt my fit was good and maybe my ds isn't big enough yet. She said that sometimes when they are still small it will slip off the shoulder but once he fills in a bit the sling will fit better? My ds is probably 10-12 lbs. Has anyone experienced this? I suggested that I might try washing/drying my sling to shrink it up a bit but Amy thought that wasn't a good idea as my fit seems good. Has any one done this? How much does it shrink. I would be totally bummed if it shrunk too much but it seems like the slipping is getting worse and i'm wondering if my sling is stretchng out? I don't remember it slipping as much when ds was first born but I was also not doing as much in it. Now I'm cleaning and shopping and such with him in it and its getting worse and worse. THe other day I was shopping and had to hold it on my shoulder almost the entire time. So disappointing and fraustrating. Any other suggestions. Please. There are so many things I like about my hotsling but if I can't fix this I'm going to have to retire it, already

I would try washing it and letting it air dry. Mine definitely stretches out after awhile, but after I wash it it's just right again. It sounds like it fit better at first, so that could be your problem.

When my daughter was little, it slipped all the time. Now that she's heavier, it weighs down the sling and doesn't let it slip. It's frustrating, but it goes away.
