If you shave, what do you use?

DH, DD, and I no-poo/un-poo, and, for the most part, don't use soap. I still shave my legs (I've tried unsuccessfully to weather the forest in the past...but DH and I just can't deal with my thick-haired legs) and currently use a Trader Joe's brand shave cream. I'm trying to go more natural (and less product). So what can I use to shave with? DH suggests water only (that's what he uses on his face)...but my legs can't take it.

I only shave once every couple of weeks and never down to the skin. I just use a hair trimmer, still leaves stubble but it doesn't bother me and dh doesn't care.

It sounds like you still occasionally use soap--what about lathering it onto your legs and trying it that way?

I just shave with water, but I don't know of many women who are ok with it.

I go back and forth w/ shaving and being hairy. When I do shave I just do water. But, if you occasionally use soap I'd try that. I have known people to use aloe vera to shave.

Sometimes when I don't want to shave in the shower, I get a bowl of very, very hot water, my razor, and a bottle of lotion. I sit on the sofa, coat my legs with lotion, and shave away, rinsing the razor in the hot water as needed. No razor burn and my legs are extra soft afterwards!

I switched to a hair trimmer too (remington beard and mustashe without the guard) I shave arms (every couple months) legs and armpits (every few days) and down there weekly. I prefer this than shaving because the hair feels softer (no blunt edge like razor shaving) and less noticable.

I either use soap that I make or I have used oil. I will use like an apricot kernel oil and smear that on my legs and then shave and rinse, the only down side is that the shower can become slick, so you must be careful to not fall (and don't sue me if you do!). Or I have made brown sugar scrubs out of brown sugar and apricot kernel oil and used that.... that is very nice too. No need for lotion after shaving because your legs will be soooooo smooth.

Usually soap, but I've done it with just water.

I use just water, try it underwater in the tub after you've soaked a bit.
