Make your own! When I bought my first maya wrap with baby # 1 I was so excited to get it. When it arrived I opened it up and I was like you are kidding I could have made this in like 5min. Even if you are not a great seamstress you can learn to make a sling or wrap in no time! I have also made the Mia Tias it is a little more complicated but real easy once you get it down pat. You will then be Abel to experiment and make a few to see which one suites you and baby best.

You can't go wrong with a Kozy or a Babyhawk XT -- I have both and they're awesome. BH has much cooler fabrics -- Kozy has more head support, a bigger body, and a pocket in one of the straps...

Babyhawk XT here also and we love it! I'd get a pocket if I were to get another one though... which I might

Babyhawk XT here too. I'm short, 5ft1in, and I wasn't sure if I should get XT. But I did and I LOVE it. It's nice to have the head support if she falls asleep. And if I don't want the extra length, I just fold the bottom up a bit. Very simple. And they have awesome fabric choices. I got a reversable one.

We have a Kozy and we like it ok. The baby isn't very comfortable in it because he's so small and is upright, which I don't think he prefers. It is great for us parents though.
We also have a Babyhawk, but it won't work well for him till he's older.

My Babyhawk just arrived yesterday and we're loving it already. Both dh and I have tried it out and we both find it super comfy and so easy to put on. The best test is, of course, ds's response, and he fell alseep right away each time he went into the BH. It doesn't hurt that it's such a beautiful carrier, too, and dh and I both picked a fabric swatch so it's reversible!

i think i'm gonna get the kind with the drawstring butt. www.meitaibaby.com - either that or a napsack

Oh you've so opened a bag of worms asking me this question now you can all see how nuts I am. MT's are kind of an obsession with me. I am preferring smaller bodied MT's because DS likes to look around when he's awake and then falls asleep against me (not the fabric) and he can't look around in a taller-bodied MT. I also feel more comfortable when his face doesn't have any fabric on it.....so, that said, my collection:

I have a babyhawk regular and a babyhawk XT. I love the regular, and it's really nice for this time of year becuase it has minkee (like a cuddly fleece blanket) sewn into it. The XT is nice too, and I've been using it more since I figured out how to roll the bottom.

I have a freehand. I absolutely *love* this one, its' probably my favorite. The one I have has denim straps, which are really sturdy and comfy. I've also seen regular ones, those straps are much more lightweight but also comfy. This is also a smaller-bodied MT.

I have a Kozy, this one's actually from DS#1. I know kozy is supposed to be the gold standard for MT's, but I'm not feeling the love again yet. I considered selling it but decided to hold on to it until DS is a bit older, so we can see if it's better for an older baby.

I got a sachi and sold it. The body is tall and narrow, which cut off my chest in a really funny way since I'm a bit fluffier. It seemed really comfy for the baby, though. Same problem with a velveteen eden (also bought and sold). I have a mynestlings which I have listed for sale - its' a really nice, light smaller bodied MT but I prefer the BH and freehand.

Next on my list to try is a colibri (www.theecstore.com) becuase it's smaller when baby is awake but it has a detachable hood to put up for sleep; and the mei tai baby that Michelle mentioned -- but I want to wait until MTB comes out with the changeable panels MT so perhaps I can settle down with wanting to buy everything!

Try the FSOT board on www.thebabywearer.com if you're not sure what to try. There are some great listings for decent prices; and you can always relist if you don't love what you get.

I have a Freehand that I totally love. Dh and I both use it. I also have a boopa Sunna solarveil mei tai. I don't love solarveil fabric, but it is so much cooler and sun protective, so I think it will still get a great deal of use for baby wearing in the summer. I also have a mom making one for me in trade. I can't wait to get it.

I have made a couple, but I just keep giving them away to friends. I want everyone to experience the mei tai love, and since I can't afford to buy one for them I am making them myself. It takes a couple of hours to do, but they turn out pretty nice.

giving this a bump 'cause I'm thinking of getting a mei-tai now.

So, are you all still loving the ones you recommend here? Any new rec's or advice?

Well i havent been using mine lately cause Daphne's legs turn purple......but her legs turn purple in every single sling I have (babyhawk, hotsling, maya)...I think she has bad circulation.

i bought one from kristin..teh MyNestling. OMG i love it! i haven't found any mt that i love as much as this one.
i just sold a BHXT b/c it was too big and bulky for me. maybe it was b/c there were pockets on both sides.
kristin sent me a cat'smeow but the body is too long for me.
i have a napsack that i love! the straps are much wider around your shoulders and the body is thinner in the middle for the baby. its the only one that really "fits" E.
and i just got a Storch from kristin! havent been able to try that out b/c of my back.
i think i want a catbird b/c i read that the straps are as soft as the MyNestling and that is one of the things i really love about that.
