Green Poos

Aveena's had green poos for about 5 days now. Anyone have any ideas what could be causing it. It started just after I had a severe breast infection. She seems happy first thing in the morning, but then looses it about lunch time and is unhappy from then on. I'm non-dairy hoping that will help, but it doesn't seem to be doing anything.

Any ideas??

Have you tried nursing on one breast per feeding, or longer? Often green poop means too much foremilk.

Yeah, I don't think it's that - she feeds for about 1 hour, half and hour on each side.

And I'm eating all different stuff, not just one type. But it always seems worse about midday, no matter what I eat for breakfast - toast or eggs or banana.

The thing that bothers me the most is that she's not very happy with it.:

Wish I could figure it out.

I have left the green poo land where I was for weeks. We now have steady golden poos! It sounds like you may want to consider cutting out many more potential allergens in your food. No dairy, eggs, soy, wheat, nuts, citrus, berries, etc. I went to the elimination diet on 1/28 and it took a good 2.5 weeks to work. I had hoped it was the foremilk/hindmilk but I am nursing no differently so i know that the poo changed because of the diet. Hope your babe feels better.

Has she been sick recently. Ds #1 had green poop once as an infant and we were told it was from a viral infection. Took some time to get out of his system.

i was sooo concerned about Ethan's green poos until his ped. told me not to worry..i was worried he wasnt getting enough hind milk, etc. but, she said as long as he is gaining, not to worry about it...so i stopped. he is a bit fussy at night but i dont know if its related to his poo. i would say he's 1/2 and 1/2 between green and yellow poo.
just thought i would pipe in to let you know it may not be a problem...not saying thats the case but good luck! i worried for several weeks and i still cant figure out when he gets yellow and green poo and why.

Try feeding in 3 hour blocks on each side for 3 days. 12-3 on right, 3-6 on left etc.

If it is an imbalance, you will notice a difference. If not, it is likely allergy or a milk infection.
