Magazine/bookrack

Any ideas for what to use as a magazine/bookrack for in the bathroom. I just wanted to make a small one to hang on the side of the vanity in Ds's bathroom. I looked at some in stores, but they are quite expensive. I was trying to come up with something kind of fun or creative.

Thanks!

I found mine at freecycle! They really help when dh limits the # of books he has to those that fit on the rack.

This isn't what you are asking for inasmuch as it isn't on the side of the vanity, but I once saw a woman use an over-the-door towel rack (it had horizontal strips of covered metal, about 4 "strips," one for each towel). Instead of hanging her towels, she draped magazines over the strips. Hard to explain, but maybe you can picture what I'm trying to say...

Are you near an IKEA? they have some less expensive ones.

Rain gutters. Seriously... screw a length of rain gutter into the wall next to the toilet --the nice "U" shape holds books and magazines really well and it's totally cheap (and creative!)

What a great idea! I never thought of the rain gutter in the bathroom. I read about it in "The read Aloud Handbook", but I never thought of doing that in my house. I am going to head to the home store tomorrow! I think I will even stencil or decoupage rubber duckies on it to coordinate with my kiddo's bathroom decor!
