New to diaper making & questions

Hi, I'm Crystal! I know a few of the ladies who post here from other forums, and I wanted to introduce myself here and ask a few questions. I haven't started making diapers yet, I'm waiting for diapercuts to stock some beautiful PUL that I've been drooling over for 2 weeks now. But I needed to ask a question. I thought diaper cuts were square(ish) pieces of fabric, usually about 20" by 20" that you can cut your diaper shaped pieces out of. Someone on one of my boards said that they were diaper-shaped pieces, not squares. I was hoping to make a wetbag out of two cuts, but that won't work if they are diaper shaped! Does anyone know for sure? I couldn't find it anywhere on Beth's website.

I'm going to have so many questions for all of you as I muddle through this. I haven't sewed anything at all since I lived at home during high school, and I've never made anything from pattern. I have 2 cloth-diapered babies, Katrina is almost 5 months old and Trent is 2.5years (and not showing signs of potty training anytime soon). Katrina's been in cloth for 2 months now, and Trent is in the process of switching now. Pocket diapers are my favorites so far, although I'd like to try to make some AIO's and see if I like them any better. I was thinking about using the VB pattern, it's been recommended to me as cheap and easy.

I also wanted to know if anyone has any idea where I can get Hello Kitty PUL by the yard, since it'll end up being a lot cheaper than the cuts - especially if they aren't square.

Any help you ladies can give would help a ton! Thanks in advance!

Diaper cuts are typically square cuts. I did see some on Diaper Swappers that were actual cuts of a diaper pattern, but that was someone selling pieces she'd already cut from her own pattern. "Diaper cuts" sold at online stores will usually be square (or rectangular) cuts, and the ones at diapercuts.com are definitely that type. It says in the product listing how big the cut is (like 20x20, etc).

I don't know about Hello Kitty PUL... Looks like diapercuts will be getting some soon... Not sure how soon "soon" is.

So you think I could make a wet bag by sewing two pieces together, right? I am going to get carpal tunnel from checking her site to see if she's stocked yet.
