I had my baby. I can't believe it was ten days ago but with a 3yr old toddler and recover I'm not suprised it took me this long to post.
Arthur was born on Feb 16th at about 4pm. I'm so excited because he was 9pds 13oz , 21in and he was a Vbac. My daughter was c-section and I did not want to do that again.
I went in to labor about 8am that morning. They did break my water but that was the only induction of any kind I had. After they broke that my body went into high gear. I did get an epidural which I was glad of later. I was pushing for about 45min when they realized his head was stuck on my pelvic bone my doctor went in with forceps to manuver the head and the minute he was unstuck he shot out like a cork popping. Unfortunately in the process he gave me a level 4 tear. Which means I got torn from one end to the other but I was just so happy he was ok.
The funny thing was after they pulled him out they put him on my chest to show him to me and I instantly asked to nurse him which they let me do but they all (including my husband) wanted to weigh and measure him because they couldn't believe how big he looked. When I finally gave him to the nurse to weigh they couldn't believe it and asked where I had been hiding him. My doctor was stiching me up and jokingly said "Now remeber the littles ones are suppose to come vaginally the big ones are for c-section" my daughter was only 7pds 1oz at birth.
.
So I'm slowly recovering for some reason I kept blowing out my lower stitches so I've had to be resewn twice. Stool softners don't seem to be getting me soft enough.
The biggest question I keep getting asked especially when I mention the resewing is now that I've had both a vaginal and a c-section which did I prefer. And to be honest I have a diffrent doctor this time and she is just so much better ( there wasn't a mark on him from the forceps). I was discharged from the hospital the next day with this birth and was so much more able to fuction sooner. With my C-section I was in the hospital for 4days and I still could barely function after I got home. So I been telling everyone I prefer my vaginal birth.
And as I've told my husband I think I'm done I have one boy and one girl. One got me across the belly the other tore me down low I'm not going to see what a third would do.
