I am writeing this from the PICU in denver, where my Rhain was air lifted yesterday due to bacteral meningitis. I rushed her to the er yesterday due to high fever and vomiting. she is doing veary well we got her here in the nick of time. please keep us in your thoughts. she is doing well, she is still on the ventalator but is breathing on her own, she will hopefully get it removed tonight. she was a little twichy earlier and thay are not sure if she had a little sezure or not, thay gave her dilantion just incase. she was geting my bm via nose tube but now she is not becuse her tummy must be empty to remove ventalator. thank you all for your thoughts and kindness.
thay removed the ventalator last night at 8pm, she still had a tube in her nose for 20 percent oxygen and one for feeding just in case. i was finally alowed to bf at 11pm she nursed a little but her throght was bothering her so it was hard. thay gave her some tylonal to help her feel beter so she could sleep, she woke upat 2am and nursed realy well, nurseing has gone well ever sence. all tubs came out this morning . she will be geting a new ive placed later today . my dh posted a blog at http://rhain.wolfimage.com/

She may get to go home tomarow!!!! she is doing realy well and thay put in a pic line so we can give her meds at home. It was kind of scary last night thay gave her Dilantion and it had a reverse effect on her so she was up from 8pm to 4am. I told the docs it was the meds but what do I know, thay decided to give her adavan and that knoked her out, so i think ok thay are not giving her the dilantion anymore Wrong thay gave it to her at 6am this causes her to flale her arms and legs but not wake up, at this point it dawns on them that I was right , so what do thay do?? thay give her a giant dose of a 3rd drug at 8am. and then even though I was conserned thay gave her another smaller dose at noon with out telling me needless to say she did not open her eyes for 12 hours, i had to practicly trow a fit to stop them from giving her another dose. I finaly got a doc to listen and take a blood test to check her levals before giving it to her, thay have still not come back to give her the 1/2 dose thay were recomending, i suspect becuse her levels were off the chart. she had a EKG today but we have not heard the results yet. she is realy doing sooooo well though. thanks for all of the kind thoughts and suport guys.
It looks like thay changed there minds now thay are saying we will not be geting out untill tomarow, thats ok I dont whant to rush it and risk her health

Thay changed there minds again, it seems thay forgot to consult infectios diesese doc's, thay said she must stay in the hospital untill her antibiotic cours is finished, she has also spiked a fever again. so I am glad thay decided to keep us, I just whant her to get better, but I realy miss my son I cant beleve I have to be awway from him for 14-21 days, I have never been away from him for longer than 24 hours before, and i have already been away for 6 days
I wish we were closer to home but I think it is better he not see his baby sister in the hospital I think it would realy upset him.
