Mind-boggling, isn't it?

Today she actually peed in the potty! Twice, counting the time it was only a couple of drops. So I think we will see it through.

ha ha i have a funny story

but first my oh my god i am so tired i forgot the word.'um warning disclaimer that's it

No children were seriousley hurt in the events i am about to share.

so i tell dd she has to go potty and she wants to do it herself (this is the new thing) so she goes in there and i can't turn the light on or anything. so she shuts the door and climbs up onto the potty to lean over and turn the light on. so she pees herself undies still on and everything. i don't know if she did it on purpose or what, she tends to just pee in her pants even though she knows how to go on the potty (side: she once peed on the floor in her room while she was wearing NO undies and the potty was RIGHT next to her). so i hear this thunp followed by screaming. lickily i wasn't holding Josephine so i could just run in and the orange light was on she was on the floor crying. i lift her up and hug her as soon as i do i realize that she has peed b/c my shirt is now all wet and then crying she syas "i slipped" she had slipped off the toilet seat b/c she had peed on it while trying to turn the lgiht on. i mean it sounds mean that i think it's funny but honestly i didn't think it was funny until it was all over with and she wasn't actually hurt, but good god did my heart jump out of my body at first.

Oh man, I hate potty training too!!!! Jevin has been potty trained since about a month before he turned 3 but only in a weird way! For the first 2 months he would only pee in the shower cause he was scared of the toilet. Yes, its weird but I just let him. I mean who cares really, I know dh pees in there when he takes a shower! LOL So he would run into the bathroom, climb on the edge of the tub and pee in there (in public he would pee in a urinal but not a toilet, so I had to let him pee outside in the bushes whenever we went somewhere if DH wasnt with me!!).

Whatever.......well dh had a fit about it after I let him do it for so long and MADE him pee in the toilet. I was so mad at dh cause he wouldnt let Jevin walk away but it did work. LOL It only took him doing it once and ever since he peed only on the toilet and stayed dry throughout the night (has an occasional accident about once a week still though). Poop is another story cause he REFUSES to sit on the toilet. So he sucks it in and holds it and gets the chills and runs around screaming trying to hold in his poop FOR DAYS. And then he just poops his pants. He FINALLY went POOP on the toilet for the first time about 3 days ago but hasnt gone since cause he is holding it in again. We gave him a whole bunch of rewards but he really could care less. GRRRRRRRR. He'll be exactly 3.5 in April. He is soooo stubborn. He KNOWS how to do it.........

Okay, I don't want to freak anyone out but my nephew is going to be 5 this month and he still goes in his pants. He knows perfectly well he has to go but he doesn't like stopping whatever fun activity he's doing, so he just goes where he is. My sister and BIL both find it frustrating but figure when he starts kindegarten, he'll shape up, since it may embarass him to mess himself in front of his peers.

Man, I just don't know what to think. She hasn't had any accidents in a couple of days now, but she is holding it like crazy She pees on the potty when she can't hold it anymore, and she hasn't pooped at all since the coffee table incident. She's been a bit sick too, threw up the other night and was pretty subdued all day yesterday

Ooh...GOOD LUCK!!!! Have you thought of maybe having a bye-bye diaper party too? We did that for my oldest with binkies. He put his binky in a basket and we said bye to it and put the basket outside. I told himthat we'd give the binky to another baby who needed it more (he was 2? 2.5? almost 3??). He was very into this idea. In the morning we went out and got the basekt and in it was a book and small toy for him as a thanks for sharing his binkies with someone who needed them. It might work with diapers too! He went cold turkey on the binky front and never looked back and was always very pleased that he gave his binkies to others

Namaste, Tara

That's not a bad idea, Tara... but it's not the diapers that are the issue, I think She is happy to be out of diapers but I think she's still a bit intimidated by the whole potty thing. I'm feeling really strongly that she just isn't ready for this yet, especially after yesterday, and I'm probably just going to get more diapers. It's not worth the stress on both of us.

How the heck do you get runny poop out of the carpet, anyhow? Baking soda really isn't cutting it.

And now she is reliably peeing in the potty, on her own! Poop is still a problem, but at least I found something that gets it out of the carpet

So, A. told me today he wasn't going potty until Luke did. So, when Luke was about to get a bath and started peeing, I popped him on the potty and he finished up in there (certainly better than the floor!). So, right now, my 3 month old has successfully peed in the potty but my 3 year old has not. I'm going to lose my head over this.
