I just put an order in to OSDS and I ordered 1in FOE for some diaper covers. Is that the best size? I hope soo! Also can I dye it?? And if I can what should I dye it with??

Man you guys are really inspiring! So far this week I put two orders into OSDS because I am an idiot and forgot two things... and then I ordered a snap press... Wish I could convince hubby that I NEED a serger!

A serger is a necessity. If I hadn't been able to get both the serger & the snap press, I would have went just w/the serger.

I believe you can dye the FOE. I was reading on the OSDS site about it this morning. Go under the FOE page there and read the part under where you order.

You can dye 1" FOE with Rit dye...it's easy to find too. I think the 1" FOE is the softest, but I like the look of the 3/4" more.
I'm trying to start a co-op for some 3/4" FOE from OSDS if you're interested in trying some.

I dyed some of the 1 inch FOE with rit dye and it turned out beautiful. I definately didn't like the 3/4 as much because I couldn't get it to gather in the legs as much as the 1 inch. I also tried to dye the 3/4 inch and it wouldn't dye. The 3/4 inch is suppose to be anti pill and definately wasn't as soft. If you are worried about pilling though 3/4 inch is the way to go.

GRRRR.... It irks me to no end... Ithought I responded to this forever ago, but mothering.com must have "been busy at this time" and it didn't go through:

I have dyed the 1" OSDS FOE and it dyes beautifully with RIT and Dylon (you can get the dylon everywhere) I just bought out on my "jaunt" a rainbow rock tie dye kit (I think that's the brand, and really want to try that! Have to wait for DH to come home, or else DS would be covered in tie dye!

Okay, I think that's all I wrote before! Let us see some dipes when you are through!

Well we are short on money so I am using flannel and terry cloths to make the diapers. Does anyone do that??

I did order some hemp french terry and sherpa and of course some PUL and FOE.

I ordered green PUL, green touchtape and wanted to dye the FOE to match!

I dyed Velcro the same time I dyed my FOE so they matched great. I've never used touchtape but I bet you can dye that too.
