I could get a free Latte just for feeding my son? How cool!

That is so cool - I should get something like this started in my community!

Thats wonderful! I want to print up something like that and hand them out to nursing moms I see. (not that I see that many of them around here) I wouldn't be able to give them a free coffee though, just a pat on the back.

Well, since I thought this was so neat and there's so much interest, I will design a postcard for us! I don't want it to be identical in content, since it's copyrighted...so, any suggestions for exactly what we'd like it to say would be greatly appreciated!

Also, if anyone has any breastfeeding art or photographs that I could use, email me.

The message on that postcard made me choke up a little bit. What a nice, thoughtful, supportive thing to give to a nursing mom!

That is so cool! I would love to be able to hand those out! I sometimes see women NIP around here (not often, at all) and want to say something to them, but I know that most are embarassed and don't want to draw attention to it, so I usually just start to nurse dd, lol. It would be really cool just to slip them a postcard, though. Great idea.

What a cool idea!

I love the idea of supporting and encouraging moms nursing in public, but I have to admit that I wouldn't be comfortable handing out cards and receiving one would seem odd. Can you imagine if you were a new mom, still trying to get comfortable with NIP, and a stranger hands you a card? Some moms might love it but some might feel incredibly self-conscious about it, and "caught you nursing" almost makes it sound like they were doing something secretive.

I know the intent is to give support, but I'm afraid that some moms might be taken aback by this. Why not just give a smile and make a positive comment?

I actually got one of these cards at a wedding reception. I had been getting all kinds of weird looks the whole time--some folks looked embarrassed and I was a little uncomfortable too. I had nursed in public before but not at a large gathering like this one and so when the woman handed me the card and I read it, it was great. I would love to have cards like this to hand out to mamas. It is such an encouragement in a world that discourages nip. It filled me with pride to be reminded that I was doing the best thing for my baby and also reminded me that I could perhaps be influencing someone else. Great idea, IMO!

Yeah, I could definitely see some moms getting upset about this. I personally would be thrilled, but then I'm an angry lactivist
