sling mamas - does this look right?

Been away for a while with an ENTIRE sick family. Bleck. Anyway, I think Drew and I are starting to get the hang of the sling. I've been trying out the front-facing kangaroo carry, and he tolerates it pretty well. He even fell asleep yesterday while we took a stroll around the 'hood.

Oftentimes though, he seem gritchy and uncomfortable. I'm afraid his legs may be hurting all bunched up like that.

Would you nice ladies please take a look and tell me if this is right? In the photos, his butt is at the very bottom of the pouch, legs crossed, with this feet up around his navel area. Make sense?

Looks right to me.

DD *loved* the kangaroo carry. DS is struggling with a lot of reflux, and I think the kangaroo carry makes it worse, and he won't tolarate it much at all. It sucks, because I love it.

Thanks, ladies! It's a Maya. I'm starting to think you have a sling addiction, Michele.

I would love to try the kangaroo hold. Can someone please tell me how you convince your babies to bend their legs? I can't get her to go froggy style for anything; it's legs out and tummy-to-tummy all the time.

ami (is that your name?) - Ava is the same way. she STANDS in pouches. LOL she WILL NOT bend her legs for ANYTHING. so, i stopped trying. we use wraps now. and soon i'll be using a MT!!!

Looks right to me. IF you feel it's wierd or funky, just make sure he's in there tight enough. My toddler LOVED to be carried like that. As soon as he could hold his little head up, tha's how he wanted to be. He'd sleep like that I'm looking forward to my baby being big enough to do that with as he's started enjoying being carried looking outward in the past few days.

We just got our hemp hotsling and I think it's a size too big. I had to fold over the shoulder to get it snug enough. I put Grey in the kangaroo carry and my DH took some pics. I look AWFUL in them. I'm overweight at the moment (though I lost 10 lbs!), in PJs, my hair isn't brushed, and I'm sick. Please don't judge. Little Greyson is sick too. Poor baby.

awww those pics are beautiful...but i see what you mean about the pouch being too big. without folding it over it would have been enormous. hm. especially since you're losing weight (go you!), you might want to get a smaller size.
