hello. I know this has been asked again and again, but of course when it is happening to MY son, I have forgotten exactly what was said, and can't find any references to it. Ok, so today I noticed this morning tht the tip of my son's foreskin is a bit red and swollen. It is not uncomfortable for him as far as I can tell (he's 3 months) and he is peeing fine. It is not hot (well, no hotter than the rest of his penis), and there is no funky discharge. So just reassure me, I leave it right? What would have to be happening for me to take him to the dr?? Thanks! Melany

It sounds like diaper rash to me. Of course, my sons are now 26 and 18 (intact, of course!), so my memory is a little fuzzy.
: I remember that their foreskins sometimes got red, but I always put it down to diaper rash, since it happened at the same time as a red bottom. As long as your ds is in good health and he's happy and peeing well, I wouldn't worry about it. If he's in cloth diapers, you might want to change the detergent you're using. If he's in disposables, you may want to change the brand of diaper, or switch to cloth.
Also, you might want to look at the sticky above titled something like Red, Inflamed Foreskin for more advice.
Good luck, and Best wishes to you and your ds!

Put some breastmilk on it (use an eye dropper, it's easier
).
