I got the call today. He was born and it's over. - Page 2

Lots of people don't understand why we feel the way we do when we hear of circ family members it's like to them It's done already so forget about it like as if the circumcision was 'no big deal'.

My cousin had her son circumcized and I gave her information, talks but she still did it. It absolutely bugs me because he had unneeded "painful surgery that 'rid ' himself of a natural functioning part of his body .

Adrian's page

Shaunam,

First, I am very sorry to hear about your nephew.

Second, as a lurker, I hope I'm not butting in, but Adrian's page is fantastic. I've been restoring my foreskin for 10 months, and I've read a *_LOT_* of pages and arguments against circ. Your page is beautiful (so is Adrian) and your thoughts wonderful. Short, sweet, to the point, not angry or anything like that.

Anyone who thinks you are "setting him up for ridicule" clearly isn't thinking. Children will pick on each other for any or no reason, and if the circumcision rate is anywhere near 50/50 in your area, they'll likely find something else to make fun of. And some states have eliminated showers in Gym class, so the other kids might never even see what he looks like 'down there'!

Again, great page, great outlook on life. Keep it up!

value of restoring my foreskin: priceless

I'm so sorry. My nephew is 2yo old and I'm still not over it. I tried so hard to save my dn, but my brother ...well we can't call people names so I better not say what I want to.

I am so sorry for your nephew. I thought your anti-circ thoughts on your webage were great. I only wish I had encountered more (or any) people like you before my first son was born. America is in a fog concerning this subject and they need to be woken up to see how horrific circumcision is. It probably will offend some or most people, but it is the truth and I think it is great you had the courage to post it on your baby's website.

s mama - I'm so sorry that this happened.

It really is terrible and there is no excuse for it.

ETA: I *really* like your edit to Adrian's page. It conveys your feelings very clearly, but isn't accusatory at all. Thank you for doing that.

My first son was born at just over 35weeks, so almost 5 weeks early, and was circed at a few days old (we didn't know...our second is intact and I am an active intactivist now, and founder of http://groups.yahoo.com/group/regretfulmoms )

They don't even hesitate to circ, they didn't even make me sign anything.
