i'm averaging about once a week, but sometimes it's less (like 1.5wks). eep!

i'm right there with you, michele. once a week is probably the average. but sometimes i'll notice he's getting a little stinky and think, hmmmm... when was the last bath he had? he actually really loves baths so i should do it more often with him... i think it's more the laziness factor!

Luka just had one yesterday, but I think it'd been almost 2 weeks before that. That's the longest he's ever gone, and his neck was starting to get a little ripe.

Us, too. Bething the baby's not so hard; it's giving the older two a bath that's beyond my reach most days.

Usually 2-3x/week. Helping give Luke a bath is one of Aaron's favorite activities, so I tend to do it when we have nothing special to do. Luke loves being in the water and kicks his little legs!

3-4 times a week. not that we need to, or even want to, but reed LOVES it so much. we stay in there for up to an hour at a time, he nurses, falls asleep and "swims", along with lots of cuddling! he starts smiling the minute he hears the water running. carter didn't dig the bath the same way reed does, so we only bathed him about once every week or two.

1-2 times a week, depending on the cheese factor in her neck. Same for the older 2. Samara has horrible excema, so I don't want to bathe her too often.

We're at about once a week now, too. Unfortunately, he SCREAMS through his baths! He absolutely hates them. We thought it was just the colic for a while, but we put him in the other day when he was really mellow and he sat there for about 10 sec. and then started wailing! We're thinking of giving him a bath every day for a week to see if he gets used to it.

I just take Moira in the shower with me whenever I get a chance to take one. She loves it

Everynight. LOL He loves his baths so much, I say "bath time" and he gets the biggest smile on his face, I lay him on the bathroom floor and his arms and legs are just flinging everywhere and he starts to chuckel. LOL (he's 5 months). I don't use shampoo and soap on him everynight night every 4-5 days, unless he pooped that day. He gets so mad when bath is over, he can stay in there for up to 45 mins!!! LOL

I was so glad to see this post. I have not been bathing dd very often, only when I think she needs it, between every week to week and a half, because it is so cold in our house when she gets out of the tub.

My family thinks this is appalling. My grandmother and mother bathed their babies EVERY day. I had the DRIEST itchy, rashy skin growing up, too. They never would have seen the connection.

When I talk to my grandmother on the phone now and she hears dd cries, she says "Oh, maybe her bottom is stinging because she is dirty.":

This is the same grandmother who asks if I have supplemented with formula with each call. She gave up on that after I kept saying no (wouldn't DREAM OF IT), so then she was all on juice.

"Give the baby juice. I think I used to give your mom orange juice," (!) I said no, so THEN she said the following week, so are you giving the baby any bottled water yet? My boobs just don't seem to cut it for her!

1x a week (if that).....probably more like every 10 days or so. I dont use ANY soap either. LOL Just water.....but ya know what, Jevin had bad bad cradle cap and a little bit of eczema (that went away after I stopped using any soap on him) and so this time I vowed to not use any soap/lotions at all and so far so good! LOL

Her hands get washed more often though cause they stink for some reason (she sucks on them and then holds them into fists so they smell like belly button, LOL!)

I'm glad to see this post. On other boards I see people give them baths every single day. LOL I dont even shower everyday. I must be one of those "dirty hippies" people talk about! HAHAHAAHAHAHA

I wish I had time to shower every day! Lately it's more like 2-3 times a week. We can be dirty hippies together Desiree

im glad to see this post b/c ive had some questions about it.
Ethan gets cranky at night and his unbathed bedtime is around 2am. if i give him a bath, which he loves, he will calmly fall asleep between 11 and 12 midnight...much better for me and much better for dh who has to wake up early.

the problem i am having is that his skin is so dry and cradle cap is really really bad. i dont wash him every night...we just get in the bathtub and play around and i usually take a washcloth and wipe inside his "folds", kwim?

what can i do abut the dry skin? its getting worse and worse but he really does need his baths to calm him down in the evening.

If your ok with useing baby oil a couple drops or more in the water should do the trick. I had the same problem with my 1st DS and it worked really well!!!

LOL ok i realize now it could have sounded like i meant that someone was stinky. but what i meant was "phew" as in "thank goodness i'm not the only one bathing her so infrequently. i don't feel so nasty now."

I bathe Tharen about once a week, but he could really use more often. He has super oily skin and his hair gets funky after about a day. The other day I noticed some stuff that smelt kind of like feta cheese behind his ears and decided it was probably time to bathe him. He has dry skin on his scalp, but it seems to be clearing up on its own. I try and wipe under his chin in his neck folds once a day with wipe solution (water and physobebe). He just loves his baths though, so I realy should treat him to one more often.

Then of course there is my 4.5 yr old. He loves his bath but hates getting his hair washed. He is getting a bath about once a week right now, though he really really needs one more often. He has the worst cradle cap and we have tried everything to get rid of it. We tried washing him more often, we tried washing him less often. We tried natural dandruff shampoo, nothing works. At least he has long hair so no one can see it.

Now if only I could get a shower more than 2x a week I would be doing good.
