How is it going mommies?

It is much better over here for dd. I have been on the eliminiation diet for over a month and have been able to bring back in chicken, citrus, chocolate , and most vegetables (still shying away from the gassy list). Verdict is out on wheat, soy, and tree/pea nuts.

The amount of rice I am eating is taking a toll on my digestive system. So constipated!

DD has had a good week or two of fussless weeks of tummy troubles, and her diapers have been all golden, no more runny green.

She's great, I just wonder if this diet is forever. What a drag, huh?

I'm on a dairy elim diet because Samara has bad excema and the Dr. thinks it may be related to dairy. I've been on it for a week and a half, and today I got a sandwich from Jimmy John's, and got HALFWAY through it before I realized it had CHEESE on it! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. : All that hard work and staying away from ALL dairy to have it messed up today. I feel like such an ass.

Yes, you can basically not eat out, or at least I can't. Soy is hidden in everything.

I was doing no dairy since birth but forgot that butter was dairy!
Talk about feeling like an ass.

Tori is doing ok. Not the best. She is ridiculously underdosed on her Zantac for her weight... I'm on the elimination diet also, it seems to help a little, but not much... She's super fussy between 6pm and 8pm because thats when the meds wear off.. Have another appointment in April...

Courtney, this could be diet, with vomitting and skin reaction.

Are you eating: diary, soy, wheat, eggs, nuts, citrus? These are the most common culptrits.

The elimination diet is when you eliminate all of these and just eat the least allergenic from each food group: turkey, lamb, rice, potatoes, squash, pears and apples. Most veggies are OK because it is a protein thing that they are sensitive to.

How are her poops? Are they greenish regularly? Does she get a red ring around her anus?

other signs to indicate food allergy...

I couldn't imagine eliminating ALL of those foods. I thought dairy was bad enough. s to you mamas who are eliminating all of those foods. Have you noticed weight loss in yourself since starting? I lost 5 lbs in 1week since starting the dairy elim, but it's tapered off now.

I keep going back and forth on dairy sensitivity. Savannah had a month of crying every evening and eczema on her face and now nothing. She's had a few fussy nights and sometimes spits up thick white stuff but other than that, nothing. :

I eliminated all dairy, caffeine and my prenatal vitamins. I've since narrowed it down to the dairy, so I've now added back in the prenatals and the caffeine.

Things are sooooooooo much better. E reacts to the smallest amount of dairy that might sneak in, like when I swipped DHs toast thinking he'd just put jam on it. It turns out he used both butter and jam, and the three bites I ate were enough to give E some pukes the next day. It takes us 4 days to get all the way back to normal, but the worst of it is over in just 4-5 hours. Dairy baked into things (like muffins) seems ok in small quantities, so I see a light at the end of the tunnel.

in my research about this i learned 2 things:

1) you need to give a couple of days to know if something clears. when you think you know, try it again another week.

2) our babies digestive tracks are growing so fast that things that caused problems early on can be outgrwon quickly, as early as 4 months old.

dairy is recommended as the last thing to reintroduce.

dd cleared wheat this week! I am going to try peanuts next. i miss pb!!!

I eliminated everything and figured out it was dairy causing the puking and face problems, and have been off dairy for about a month now. I want it back! I am tempted to try it again but it took over 2 weeks for the puking to stop and I don't want 2 more weeks of that.

They could be heat bumps. My daughter got them from being too hot in her car seat, and a few times from wearing a hat when it was too warm. Mix a teaspoon of baking soda in a cup of water and dab it on the dots. The redness will go away.

i can totally sympathize, mandy. i've been off dairy for a couple of months now, and ds seems to be doing well. last weekend i had some milk on my cereal and he was spitting up, gassy, and fussy for the next 5 days ( and had much more frequent poops). so that experiment didn't go well! but i really miss yogurt and cheese!!!!

i guess this too shall pass, right!
