elastic

Oops! Here I am gearing up to sew some diapers (I got the cabinet yesterday but still need to set everything up) and I probably don't have enough elastic. I do have some stuff that I think is Lastin (from Fabricland) and some 1/4" woven poly/rubber also from FL. And I found some 1/2" knit poly/rubber last night in my stash. I'm not sure I like what I have. It wasn't bought specifically for diapers and I'm not sure if it's durable enough. Should I hunt down some Stretchrite?? I know it's all personal preference really but I have no experience with any of it in diapers.

Where to find Stretchrite in Canada?? When I asked at FL they didn't have any and, in fact (surprise!) their selection sucked. Any online Canadian sources you can toss my way. I don't really think it'd be worth my while to buy JUST elastic and have it shipped across the border.

Does Wazoodle carry elastic?

Shipping just elastic across the border shouldn't be that expensive actually. I've shipped 2 diapers across the border and it was less than $1 more than US postage. And elastic is SUPER light. It might go at letter rate (20-30 cents more). Just order from a place that charges actual shipping and is willing to do non-priority type shipping. Elastic is cheap online. Swimsuit elastic usually runs about $0.20/yd, and it's easy to work with and great for diapers. Lastin is more expensive, but really really really lightweight. Just put some in your cart at an online store, and get a shipping quote on it. It might not be too bad. You could also check the TP or somewhere like that to see if anyone has elastic for sale that they could just stick in an envelope for you. If I had extra, I'd certainly send you some! Unfortunately, I'm low on elastic myself and need to order more fairly soon.

Wazoodle doesn't have knit elastic, only woven and clear. I'll look around at some of the online US places to see what their shipping is like.
