C'mon you know you need a reason to sew yet another diaper! You know you're as addicted to it as I am! Have fun doing it. You could win prizes and just think of how much you'd be helping other mama's.

Ok, I had some UGLY gray pul that i wanted to dress up and I was dying to buy some varigated thread so i did it and WOW the ugly gray pul is NO longer ugly. Here is the pic of my "Miracle Diaper" AIO. Outer is 2 mil pul, inner is microfleece with an 8 layer flannel sewn in soaker and 1 inch aplix closure. I figure she probably gets a lot of used stained diapers so maybe they'd like a change of scenery, not that my sewing is good to look at, I still suck at serging.

Actually, when I was chopping apart coats last night to harvest the PUL I ended up with some good-sized pieces that will be too small for outers for my toddler but probably just right for newborn outers. I'm not a mama pad girl (or a pad girl at all) so I won't be using them for that. I had thought of offering them up to mama pad users for shipping costs only but the bigger pieces of the "scraps" will be for wee diapers once I get a few under my belt and actually have some idea what I'm doing.

Awesome challenge! I hope people take you up on it.

Or... maybe I could do the NB's first as my practice dipes. I don't expect that they'll be awful and that way I'd get in under the drive deadline.

We should start a 'sew and show donation challenge' thread to show your contribution... or, on second thought, why not just add pics here? Come on mama's, let's do a good thing here! Remember, they do *not* need to be brand new diapers, they could be things that you've already made or already own (as long as they are in decent condition, of course)... dipes, covers, wipes, pins, snappies, prefolds.

Just has to be postmarked by March 31st so there's still a few weeks!

Ya'll are soo nice. I'm gonna make an AIO sometime today I hope but I also have 4 other diapers/covers to send her that my dd outgrew. Brogansmama, she'll take anything as donation even if she has to do some repair or clean up but for the drive she is needing ready to use diapers so don't worry bout how you think you'll do I'm confident you'll do fine . Thanks ladies.. pass the word around about the challenge and I DOOOOOOOOO want to see pics of course!

i am in a recycled swap on a different board and what ever soakers do not get taken there i am going to send to MD. They will be acrylic but i don't think they will mind. I don't think i am going to make it for the prize thing but i just want to help since they are so great!!

I have 5 fitteds to send, but they all need hook on the wings and foldback tabs first. I also have a giant stack of contours cut out of my scrap flannel to serge together. I bet I have more laying up in my sewing room that can be of use. I can think of a couple more fitteds that could use good homes.
Now I just need to get it done and put in the mail!

I've already gone through the stuff my nb has outgrown (crazy that my 5 wk old is grown out of things. . .) & I'm also figuring out what I need to keep of my toddlers stash (I can always make more for the baby when she gets to be 20 lbs, right? ) I'm actually really thrilled about this! i'm going to sew 2 for the drive plus, I have like 3 diapers that i forgot to wash the flannel first and it shrunk on me, they still fit dd but not for long. I'm going to send those also when we are done. Especially since there is a chapter right here in NY so it won't cost too much to send to them.

CradledinCloth1, the coop where I get a lot of my supplies, did their own drive for Miracle diapers. I sent 5 medium flannel fitteds, since I've decided that fitteds just aren't for me. I think it's great that they can provide diapers to those who need them! I hope they get tons!

I've already sent 3 fitteds and a cover through Cradled In Cloth. I also have 4 (or 5) fitteds cut and just waiting to sew to send as well. The fitteds I have to sew I am sending to Amanda for the MI Miracle Diapers. Yay!!!

ooh.. I'll send in some of my nb aios that lucy has outgrown (and didn't wear a ton!) and maybe whip up a couple of covers because those are super fast!!

I'll accept that challenge.

I thought I wasn't going to be able to donate anything because we are b.r.o.k.e. and I just barely came up with enough money to buy fabric to make DS's diapers.

But then my sister gave me two yards of really cute flannel, and since I'm not a big fan of flannel, I'm just going to whip up some fitteds and donate them!
