You know what's really funny?

After my rant below about how making the Potty Dance Pants went all shades of wrong...

...I'm seriously considering getting the diaper patterns! LOL! They seem so trim compared to others, and more of what I'm looking for.

Dh won't mind, would he? I already have the Cuddlebuns pattern (which I completely sucessfully only to hate the fit on my dd), and the Very Baby pattern (which I decided afterwards wasn't my style and will probably pass along to my sil.) So why not this one too? I want side closures, this seems to fit that bill.

But how trim are they? Are they like Swaddlebee trim? Because the new Swaddlebees are the perfect fit for dd. (the old ones were too trim.)

ETA - Also, upon reviewing the pattern description, will they fit my dd? She's 29 lbs and has a bit of a tummy so some diapers that claim to go up to 35 lbs don't fit her (though the Lucy's Hope Chest L's that go up to 32 lbs have lots of room in them!)

I'd hate to buy it, make one and find out they won't fit around her waist.

I'm a pattern addict, so you don't want to hear from me I'm considering the DD pattern just so I have more of a variety of dipes!

But I have a question...why didn't you like the cb's for your DD? I am just curious--they are the bulk of what I'm making for the coming babe, and I know everything fits differently, but I'm wondering what you didn't like about them.

Thanks!

I think the DD diaper is pretty trim. Never tried Swaddlebees, but I don't like untrim diapers. If the waist is too small, it would be easy enough to just make the wings a little longer and move the snaps out further. It's a great pattern. Easy to sew, too.

I've only heard good things about the dd patterns. I'm thinking of getting one myself.

Run out and buy it all of you guys! I have all of Amber's patterns and they are all excellent. They are so worth the tiny bit of money they cost, plus you are keeping an excellent WAHM in business.

I don't know about the large sizes however. Email Amber and ask her. She is so helpful!

They seemed a little too wide in the front for my taste. I could try cutting it along the elastic lines to make it a "bikini cut" diaper, as the pattern suggests. I like trim diapers, partially b/c she was a late walker due to low muscle tone and I don't want anything inhibiting her stance (that and the new physical therapist looked kind of cross-eyed at the cloth diaper she was wearing and kept saying how bulky they were - it was a Baby Bloomrs diaper, just as trim between the legs as a disposible.)

I did find the pattern easy to use and follow and make, just the end result wasn't what I was hoping for. Again, I should try the bikini cut, see if that works out well for us.

There is a huge difference b/t the reg. and bikini cut cuddlebuns. I don't really like them overall, but the bikini cut ones are okay. The regular ones are icky, IMO. WAY TOO WIDE and just fit weird.

All right, y'all are worrying me here...maybe I should get another pattern and at least do half cb's and half something else.

Hmmm...now to decide between DD and VB

The Very Baby one...honestly, I haven't even cut that one out. But people seem to really like them and she has a bunch of ways to mix up the pattern to make it an AIO or pocket. I'm currently eyeing the DD's one, just waiting to get a little more feedback on fit (making sure it'll be big enough for my dd.)

Are you kidding? It's $8.00, go for it. Amber gives great pictures and instructions to her patterns and would be 'around' if you got stuck and had questions.

Well I would - and have had the "buy now" page open for an embarrasing amount of time now - but dh would probably bang his head against the wall if I bought one more pattern that I didn't use

Can I say, I love being able to print out the pattern though from my own computer! I have a tendency to lose things, so having it on file is very handy!~
