What is your process?

I am just starting to make diapers. I have mad 1 prefitted and 2 fitteds so far.
This is what I am doing:
Shrinking/washing the fabric
tracing and cutting a bunch of outers
tracing and cutting the inners
t & c the soakers
putting snaps on the outer fabric so the snaps don't touch the babies skin and are hidden inside the inner layers.
sewing 2 innerlayers with the elastic
pinning like a mad lady to get the outer serged to the inner
Then I assemble half the soaker and add the snaps so they are hidden- I don't sew the pieces together until I serge all the soaker fabric together whcih is my next step
Put on the last snaps on the front of the diaper.
I'm done with a diaper.

ANY SUGGESTIONS TO THIS METHOD? Does it sound like a good way to go? I'm trying to do an assembly line thing.

I am making side snapping fitteds from the VB pattern.

My hands just ache from doing so many snaps in one sitting. I put snaps on 4 fitted outers and my hands feel like they might fall off-will talk about that in another post.

Well, I do one dipe from start to finish, because I get gratification from seeing it on Ryan right away. That being said I don't have tons of diapers to make because he already has a big stash so I'm not in a hurry. I prewash all fabric as soon as I get it so it is ready for me. I make side fastening fitteds. I then cut the diaper out, If I'm doing snaps I put the side snaps on so they're hidden, I sew on the soaker, sew the two layers together, put in the elastic, turn & topstitch and if I'm doing snaps I'll put the front snaps on, If not I'll put the touchtape on.

Well, I don't do snaps, so I can't comment about that.

I buy my fabric and bring it home right away to wash and dry.
Then I cut out a bunch of diapers.
Then I sew them all (3 layers T&T)
Make all the soakers.
Finally, add Aplix to the diapers.

I have been doing this in batches of 5-6 and enjoying it so far.

I think your method sounds good. When I first started I did one at a time start to finish, but now I'm trying to do assembly line. I do all of these at least 4-5 at a time.

1. Wash and dry all fabric
2. My inners are the same as my outers, so I cut a bunch at a time. Also cut soakers
3. Serge soakers--I go ahead and do them all so I can have a pile made. I do external quick dry soakers.
4. Pin in one layer of a microfiber soaker, which also pins my layers together and matches them.
5. Sew in elastic
6. Serge dipes (I may start serging and then topstitching)
7. Sew in soaker
8. Either attach snaps or sew on Aplix (I do both).

I do velcro and t&t 3 layers.

I wash/dry all fabric like I will once they are diapers.
Trace tons of body layers and cut them out.
Trace and cut soakers
Pin soakers and sew them together.
Sew soakers to inner layers.
Pin diapers together and sew.
Turn, sew closed, and topstitch/add casings (don't topstitch all my dipes)
Sew on velcro and laundry tabs.
Try the diaper on the baby!
