The best soaker material

Hi, I am new to making diapers. I have made a few PUL pocket diapers recently, and was wondering what would be the most absorbent, softest, and least bulky material to use for the soakers. I have been using 2 folded together washcloths from Walmart, and they work great at preventing leaks, but they are so bulky. I hate the fact that my son looks like he is riding a horse when wearing a diaper. Oh, and I have to use two washcloths, because he can soak a diaper with the best of them!

Are they just regular washcloths? You might try the microfiber towels. They used to have big ones in the kitchen towel isle, but I haven't seen them anymore. They have some in the automotive section.

Hemp french terry is very thin, but not always the softest. Sherpa is also very absorbant, but bulkier, but fluffy soft. Microfiber towels are also a great pocket stuffer, again soft, and fairly thin, but not as thin as hemp.

Yeah, they are regular washcloths. The cheapo ones, like 12 for 4 bucks. I was wondering if nice cut up towels would work. I will have to look and try the microfiber towels.

I would also try the microfiber towels. They are cheap, trim and thirsty.
