I have made several pocket diapers out of the VB AIO pattern in small and theya come out great. But when I make the medium they seem really huge and kind of baggy. I have no idea what I am doing wrong. Is the medium a lot bigger than the small or is it just me?

This book feels good in your hands. The paper is heavyweight, and the illustrations flow perfectly.

I didn't find them to be a lot bigger, but I did think they were baggier in the bum area. The small is definitely the trimmest pocket out of the sizes. The large is REALLY baggy in the bum area also, but, once stuffed, they fit my DS really well. Do yours still look baggy after you stuff them?
Hmmm..not too baggy after stuffing but they seem wide. Maybe I need to sew in on the legs a little more, to make it trimmer there.

My 26.5 lb 20 month old wears a medium-long. So if your babe is fitting in smalls still, I could see the medium being kind of large. Maybe try using the inner cutting line as the outer line, and then making a new inner cutting line? I did that by accident the first one I made, and it turned out nice and trim.
I intend to make a pocket out of them at some point in the near future, and I'm not sure if I should move up to a large for that or stick with medium-long? Probably stick with medium-long... They fit pretty big, I think.

I imagine the large will be HUGE.
