deleting posts

I'm afraid I can't figure out how to delete posts. I see the edit/delete button, but it only seems to edit. I thought maybe clearing all text would tell it to delete, but that didn't work.

We don't permit members deletion of their posts. You can edit but not delete.

Ah... might want to change the FAQ? I just searched for "delete post" or something like that and got the answer for editing/deleting posts.

If you have a reason to want a thread deleted, you can always PM a moderator and tell them your concern (like if you accidentally posted two identical threads or something they can delete one. if you put it in the wrong place they can move it).

Why is it not permitted for members to delete their own posts? Just curious!

Take Care,

If you make a double post or something you can simply edit the post to say double post or oops or never mind or some such thing.

I'd love to see this changed.  A person should be in charge of their own content.

Because giving a member the ability to delete a complete post also grants them the ability to delete an entire thread of discussion if they are the person who started the thread. Giving you edit ability to remove what you posted but not be able to remove what everyone else posted just makes more sense and it does give you control of your content.

I disagree, but thank you for responding.
