need help with pattern for wool soaker

i have knitted several wool soakers, but im not great at joining. i purchased a wool soaker that is just one piece. if anyone wants a pix, ill email it to you. the soaker is now way small and im going to sell it. but.....a thought occured to me as i was taking pix. this is ONE piece, no joining! yeh! so, why cant i just knit something like this (also no cuffs to worry about).

im wondering if there is anyway to create a knitted pattern out of a drawing (like if i drew something larger than what this soaker is and estimated a larger size, if there is a way to calculate how many stitches, etc.).

i KNOW some of you have done this before from looking at stuff! you are just too talented not too!!!

please help if you can. thanks. i dont want to spend time doing another soaker and totally screw up. i just finished a cute soaker that he is too large for already.

You might get a better response in the Yarn Crafts forum. I believe you mean you want something knit in the round with no seaming involved? Most soaker patterns are done that way. There are many dif. ones you can purchase and also a few free ones to choose from. Also, there is a yahoo group wool_soaker_group if you search at groups.yahoo.com.
