But what if they put it up on pay-per-view? Seems fitting, no? Why not get every ounce of fame where you can?

Rebecca- you would hate Ezzo. It's a cio, put your baby on a schedule, don't hold 'em too much. parents are more important book. There are many documented cases of failure to thrive that stemed from the use of this parenting method.

Nice bumping into you BTW!

Jizzney would vie with Jinger for the, "This is how to pronounce my name" genre for th duggar statistical pool.

I did not read all the posts but i am aquainted with the family. They are very conservative christian, and do in fact wean very early to concieve quicker. I am all for the older kids helping the younger, but i don't feel like these kids are given enough individual attention and nurturing to create individual selves. Thet are very much about the family view with out question which is the certainly a persons right but it is kind of creepy to see in the reality. She and I were pregnant at the same time and since I gave birth to my 4 yr old she has given birth to her 4yo and four more children. all I can say is that my baby is still very much a baby in her needs and I feel bad for her babies that never got that time from their mommy

Ewwww, that sounds horrible! It sounds like it would have been fabulously popular on the PG boards on iv!

Good to see you too lady!

Yay!!! I made it to page 84 and the thread is still alive!

Now I can go back and find all those things I wanted to say about this subject ... tomorrow, after I recover from my reading marathon.

I get cable but not Discovery Health. Would somebody be so kind and able to record it for me, neither VSH or burn a DVD for me? If you can, please, PM me.
I will gladly pay for any costs involved.

So what did everyone think?

Actually I didn't find this show as interesting (or as controversial!) as the others.

I may have missed a few details since I was reading my email at the same time, but some things I noticed:

Did anyone see one of the older girls wearing a sling, and slinging baby Johanna? I thought that was nice to see

The kids really got a lot of great experiences. I can't IMAGINE the expense of a trip like that with 16 kids- the cost of gas alone must have been astronomical, plus admission to all the places they went, and cowboy hats for everyone- I wonder how much of it was paid for by the Discovery channel??

On the food front, I was happy to see a bag of fresh spinach, but couldn't believe that with the limited space they had, one of the 'staples' they brought was several gallons of pickles????
There wasn't a mention of baby #17, was there? Or did I just miss that?

Yes!! I saw that immediately and was coming here to post about it. That was a very positive thing.

The first words out of my DH's mouth were, "Mrs. Dugger needs a new do. Her "church hair" went out a long time ago."

My dd is into that show. I myself just can't get into it. While I know the mom nurses for only five months or so in order to get pg faster, I am certain each one those closely spaced kids is glad she did And just a side note, there are worse things than being conservative! :

Fun With Numbers

Do you realize that if each kid on average had four children and then each one those children had even four kids on average, the mom and dad in 16 kids would have 256 great-grandchildren. And just for kicks if you take it out three more generations, with each one having on average four children, that would be a 16,384 descendents. Can you imagine!?!?
