They could do better on the diets but I won't give them a hard time for that, everyone doesn't eat like "us". Sometimes I really love them and I think they seem like a sweet family, but then there are those other things I'm not too sure about. I do wonder if they beat their kids and I really worry about the children having individuality- it seems on the TV at least when they try to explain that they do indeed have differnt inerests it is always dumb stuff like I like more cheese on my tator tot casserole and a differeent flavor ice cream, see we really are allowed to express our individuality. So that worries me. I'm like the other poster. My ass hurts from sitting on this fence. I want to see the unedited first show. If someone has a linky post it.

I have met them and while very nice they are a bit creepy Stepfordy. As far as I could tell from the times I spent with them they are not big on individuality. I have heard through the grapevine mind you, that one of the latter kids has had failure to thrive issues. Not against big families mind you. I am actually trying to out breed the christian right LOL

They might seem Stepfordy because they are constantly scrutinized for every little thing because of their size. I know I feel this way about my family with things relating to our life-styles (don't look dumb because we homeschool, try not to catch every illness since we don't vaccinate and I talk of the health benefits of breastfeeding, don't talk of my son's multiple bladder infections because we don't circ, etc.)

Also, I'd hate to hear a doctor's opinion of my perfecly healthy yet off-the-charts skinny children. I can't imagine how having so many helping hands from older children in their family any child would not be fed so often to have FTT because of starvation. I suppose anything's possible though. I do agree their diet leaves much to be desired.

I also don't vacc my kids are also off the charts skinny, and we unschool. I have friends who have very large families that don't give me the stepfordy feeling. these kids seem to have a uniform personality, to match their creepy outfits. It is just a vibe thing. These people went to church with my mom and were nothing but kind to her and to my family, but they just give me a weird feeling.

i can't let this thread die because i just took FOUR DAYS to read it. i'm not kidding. this is the second longest thread i've ever read... the first being the duggar thread at twop!
can you believe i've only seen about 10 minutes of ONE of the specials. 'tis true. i think it was "16 kids and movin' in"? i don't know, but they were still building the house.

For those of us that our gluttens (sp) for punishment, I just saw on Discovery Health where they are going to show tomorrow night, the top 3 Voted shows... in the clip they were showing differnent clips from different shows, the Duggars being one of them... would be interesting to see if they were one of the shows voted for... I think it starts at 8pm tomorrow, anyone else have any info.?

I thought about the Duggars the other day when we started at a new homeschooling co-op and I had one of the small families there.
