How do you end your serging?

I'm curious how all of you end your serging. I've read & seen a couple of ways to do it, but I'm not happy with the look of either one, especially on a diaper when it's all visible. So, please, share your secrets!

Good question! I always leave a tail and then zig-zag back over it so it doesn't unravel...it's just not very pretty. I'd love to read how others do it!

I leave a long tail and then put it in a sewing needle and sew it back through the diaper. It makes a nice finish without coming undone

If you are serging in such a way that you end up where you started, like in a dipe or a wipe, then I also try to make it so that my stitches don't look they made a sharp turn off the end of the fabric. I stop stitching exactly where I started, raise the presser foot, gently pull the fabric to the back of the serger, and off the stitch fingers, and then serge (off the fabric) to make a long tail.

I also tie the beginning and end tails together in a small knot to be extra secure, and then use a double-eyed needle to weave the ends together under the serged loops, between the layers I've just serged. Totally invisible, and very secure! Absolutely no unravelling at all, and just try to find where I stopped and started. I dare ya!

Picture a square, the top is side 1, the right side is side 2. So I start on side one, very close to the corner with side 2. When I am finishing, I serge past my starting point and serge past the corner, leaving a long tail, which I tug and pull on to get tight, then I snip it.

Hope that made sense.
