i got some scraps of PUL to make mama pads and think i have enought to make a small wetbag to go in my purse. I was wondering how anyone finishes off the top do you put a button, pull string, velcro. or what do you think would work best. If anyone has a pic of pattern or tutortial to show sizes i was think just 2 squares and sewen together.

I would just fold over the top a bout 3/4" and sew it to make a casing and thread a cord through it.

How small are we talking? I saw one a friend made for mamacloth and she just made it like those plastic sandwich bags--not the zippered kind, but the kind that has the extra flap you fold over? But I don't know how well it would work for a bigger one. I just put a zipper on mine.

thanks for the ideas. i am not sure about the size yet i don't really go anywhere but school so i don't think that i would need to carry more than 1 or 2. But i was think about maybe making 2 compartments for clean and dirty. I don't know how well that would work as i only have about a med size purse that i carry i might have to get a larger one.
What do you guys think about a 2 compartment wet bag. would it be a waste of PUL and time. I don't think that it would be harder to have them in a bag or my purse i just thougth that way they would be hidden if anyone were to get a look in my purse.
I anyone uses mama pad how do you store them when you go out somewhere

Here's a tutorial to make a lined zippered pouch. It's the pattern I use to make all my wetbags of various sizes, with the lining, obviously, being PUL, and the outer fabric any fun remnants I have and like. It's very quick and easy, and makes a really nice bag.
As far as a 2-compartment bag, I don't know that you'd need a wetbag to carry your clean mamacloth, maybe just a fabric sack with a drawstring? Of course, if you want it all in one container with a clean and a soiled section, then, you might want to check out this old thread what this mama did; she made the basic wetbag in the tutorial link above, but divided it into two sections with a couple of rows of stitching, and put a zipper in the top and bottom of the bag.

Sorry. I didn't catch the part about it being for mama pads. I was thinking diapers.

I've got this really cool looking cloth pencil case that I plan on turning into a mama pad pouch. I figure all I really need to do is create a pul pouch and sew it into the cloth bag near the zipper. That way I get a really cute bag without all the hassle of dealing with a zipper. I think I paid a dollar for the bag.
