Help: cover from diaper pattern and leg holes seem small

I made this fleece cover from the diaper pattern I've been using, adding, oh, maybe 1/2" all the way around. The leg holes look small, though. Did I do the right thing? Like, the wings look a little too big. If I had cut it smaller though, to get a bigger opening, it might not have covered the diaper. Any suggestions?

I know these dipes will be cute, but I hope they actually work, too!

I haven't put the Aplix on yet because I'm a little hesitant as to how it will fit. Any suggestions there, or should I just wait until the babe is born?

Is the elastic really tight, or sort of loose?

I found that if I made my elastic looser, then the smaller leg holes didn't matter as much.

Honestly, it looks good to me! Cute dipe!

i was just going to say that maybe make the elastic longer and not pull as tight? I know I have been making training pants, and it is the other way around they call for alot more elastic and they just dont seem to fit right in the leg holes so with trial and error i found the perfect length... but the fleece cover looks great!! very cute! Good job mama!
