Sewing a mei tai?

I remember seeing a post on this a long time ago, and now I want to make one for my sister. I did a search and the result was "these words are too long, too short, too common or were not included in your search". Hmm, helpful.
Anyway, does anyone have instructions for making one of these, pics maybe?
Thanks!

I highly recommend mine! See my sig -- I tried to take a lot of photos of the process (I'm a very visual learner), and so far, folks on the DIY forum of TBW have been happy with their results.

Good luck!

I just finished making myself the "Man-tei" and we love it! Great pattern and instructions.

I made my own using a pattern I loosely followed from this site.

Here is what it looks like finished. I made it reversable with the cammo on one side and plain green (like the straps) on the other side. The only change I'd make is to put a little more padding on the shoulder straps.

Im part way through making the one from the sleeping baby site but made the body part much smaller.. so far fairly easy- but not sure I get the angle part for the top straps...

Here's my creation. I'll post another picture when my niece is in it.

oh, and this really isn't about the mei tai, but what are the little blue tags you put on everything? just a piece of ribbon, or a real tag ?

It's pink tags for my niece, and then blue tags for my friend's baby boys. It's just ribbon. It just personalizes, I think.

I got the canvas at wall mart for $4/yard. It's a little heavy. This woman http://thosemartins.com/bmt/index.htm used some 45' home dec fabric which I have seen at Joanne, and which is the same brand I made the little wristlets from. It does need to be prewashed since it shrinks a bunch, but it's a bit lighter than what I used while still being sturdy, and the patterns are awesome. I'm going to try that for my next one.
