"I really don't get Margene's appeal at all as the sexy one. It completely escapes me."

Oh now i think she's soooo hot.

Ok Roman won't be killed off and here's why:

Warning :: Spoiler Ahead! Highlight to read message!
On hbo.com there was a teaser preview thing-y before the second season began airing. There was a brief scene that showed Roman wearing a bathrobe on Bill's front porch.

I'm missing the whole Selma thing, why do we think he's a woman?

Not only did Bill and Margie have sex on Barb's night, then Nikki had sex with Bill in Barb's house. Didn't Nikki have a huge fit because Margie had sex in her house last season? It's funny that Nikki has such a moral high ground, but often she's the one breaking the rules or trust of another wife.

I feel bad for Barb. It seems that she loves her family deeply but loving them is slowly killing her. When Benny said he would "just take another wife" I thought she was going to die. Especially since he put it in context of falling out of love and basically replacing that. Ugh.

I'm starting to hate Bill. His older kids are a mess, his wives are annoyed, he's crazy with revenge on Roman and he pulls the whole Ana thing? Get over yourself, if you've got issues with your first 3 families you don't start dating. He's neglecting his duties as a husband and father. Sara's dating a 26 year old and no one notices?? Come on, with 3 mothers there's not someone out there seeing this stuff?
No, Margie was upset because Nikki had sex on Margie's bed (and Bill used the sweet nothings that Margie whispered to him on Nikki. Something like, "My blue eyes.")

I can't help but wonder why Barb is in this marriage. She always seems like is just surviving the marriage, as opposed to thriving in it. I understand she loves Bill but sometimes I wonder about her level of self esteem.

I really don't get Margene's appeal at all as the sexy one. It completely escapes me.
Selma totally reminds me of Leslie Jordan from Will and Grace (Beverley Leslie). Plus has
anybody seen Wanda in anything before..... clue, Roseanne when she worked sweeping
hair at the hair salon?????

Yeah I was glad to see the sex back, and I totally understand Margene as the sexy one. I
wouldn't kick her out of my bed. :

Aren't the women who shot Roman the same women who torched the boat? Or am I imagining
something that didn't happen?

I don't think Barb thought she would live to be in this marriage. I think being sick played a HUGE
part in accepting a second wife. I think she believed that Nikki would be there to take care of her
children, and Bill when she passed away. I think if she knew she would have survived threw it all
she would never have gone threw with it. I totally thought she was going to leave Bill again after
Ben said what he did. Oh during that moment I got chills up and down my spine. I felt so bad for her.

5 things

1. I want Barb to leave and say that she wants a NORMAL family life.

2. I know that my fantasy is totally unrealistic according to the show's premise.

3. I was SHOCKED when Ben said what he did, but why wouldn't he? I mean, as far as he saw, that's what happened with his parents.

4. I think that Roman will either be in ICU with 93487 wives and 2394723894723897 children visiting him with tater tot casseroles and homemade afghans

OR

5. They will play it off like he's dead, hiding him somewhere in a cave or something, and he will rear his ugly (HOW does he get all those wives?) head in the final show of the season, to Bill's consternation, as he's trying to get control of the UEB.

I think Bill really wants to be back on the compound, but he wants it like it *should* have been, when his grandfather was the Prophet. Technically, he should be the heir apparent, yes? He was robbed, man, robbed!

(But I wouldn't kick Margene out of my bed, either.) :

Back off I already claimed Ginnifer Goodwin in the OP of this thread!

eh, I'm totally sick of Barbs new personality this season. Her poor me syndrome is totally old. The whole poor wife forced into polygamy is the standard cliche and I'd like the show 1000% better if they would move outside the stereotype and show the family they way they did the first season. In it together by choice.
OK, what's the deal? Please EXPLAIN to me Margie's sex appeal and you can't just say, "I wouldn't kick her out my bed." What is it? I don't see it! She can't even talk dirty! When she and Bill were allegedly talking dirty, I started laughing! That's not the response sex talk (at least for me) should elicit! If I start laughing at you, you did something wrong!

Trinity, I think you're right about Barb thinking she would die. But, she lived. So, at this point, she needs to make a choice. I'm with Arduinna, I'm growing tired of the whole "woe is me" atttitude.

Wow! The past few posts are making me feel sad and I haven't even seen the second series. We are about halfway through the first season.

Its true it seems Nikki likes to monopolise Bill sexually. She had sex on Margie's bed in season one. And then pretends she is wanting to conceive so she can have him more often.

GOsh I am gasping reading these posts.

Seriously? Margene is so teh sexx. No, really, she is young and hot and fertile and willing to go down? What's not to like? I mean, hello, I am straight and I would totally do her. Maybe I'm not so straight? She is WAY more appealing, sexually, than Nikki or Barb, but maybe I'm just trying to recapture my youth. God, I'm 33, I'm practically ancient now. I want to feel for Bill, but what I feel is what the show makes it feel like he *should* be feeling for his wives, that Margene is the one who wants to make his hard day go away, to make it all soft and easy and nice for him. And who am I to fight against that?

But, Arduinna, I would fight you for her. And I just might kick your ass. I'm just sayin'.

"anybody seen Wanda in anything before..... clue, Roseanne when she worked sweeping

yes, she came out on Boogie Nights! Her voice also sounds familiar from the salon where Roseanne worked, the blonde one that was a bit ditzy. hmmm I can't believe how different she looks now!!!

Yes. I think she is so sexually appealing and Barbara and Nikki- not at all

I agree...If I were Bill I would be knocking at Margie's door constantly. She is fine!

I can't remember if they were the same women, but they are from the same group. They torched the boat and tied up Adaleen.

Let's go ba-by :

Her appeal? Well for one thing her character is totally open and genuine, unlike Nikki. Although Nikki doesn't appeal to me in a physical way at all. I think Barb is HOT if only she would quit the whining from this season. I liked her much better last season.

I know, pretending she's trying to conceive and then getting on her moral high ground with Margie, telling her sex is for procreation and not recreation. I wanted to jump through the screen and say, "Thank God you're inside Nikki, God can't get you with a thunderbolt here!"

OK, well I'm NOT straight and I wouldn't do Margie But, as they say, sexiness is all in the pants of the beholder

Did any of you happen to see HBO's "If These Walls Could Talk 2"? It came out a few years back (circa 1999/2000) and was about lesbians living in three different time periods in the US. Chloe Sevigny (sp?) played a butch lesbian in the 1970s. Oh. My. God/dess.: I was married at the time and thought I was completely straight. I watched that show and I was so, um, stimulated by Chloe's character. I even called my mom afterward and said something like, "Um, what's up with me?" I came out shortly thereafter, no joke. If you wanna see a different side to Chloe, rent that movie! You will not look at "Nikki" the same way ever again

Someone needs to expose Nikki's hypocrisy. I think they need to do an intervention with her.

I saw it but for some reason I don't remember her in it. I remember the two older women and the ones that were TTC.

Oh, yeah, I think Vanessa Redgrave was one of the women from the 1940s/1950s time period. That one made me cry Sharon Stone and Ellen Degeneres were TTC.

Chloe was dating a college girl who was roomies with Nia Long, remember? Nia's character and friends (all of whom were lesbians) gave the girl a hard time for dating Chloe's character because she dressed like a man, and therefore they questioned rather the roomie was really a lesbian or if Chloe was truly a woman and they didn't really respect her.

I could have wrote this, you summed it up so well for me.

Oh & I don't get Margene's appeal either, she's my least favorite wife.

Editing to clear up the Margene part: I think Margene is pretty, its the character I don't like at all.

Oh that's right, the college girls! I remember them now, I haven't seen it in ages. Yes the older women made me ball my eyes out. Her partners family were just horrid after she died.
