I need a quick tutorial on snap presses...

There are all these terms that I don't understand. Like "dies" for instance. What are the different parts called and what would I need?

Where can I get a good snap press? Which one would you recommend?

Also, do the snaps go through all the layers of fabric after the diaper is done? (I know...probably a silly question! )

I'll try to answer your questions! The snap press I have is from thesnapstore.com. They have great customer service & their shipping is really fast. You will need to buy a snap press ($62) and then a set of dies. Dies are little metal pieces that fit into the snap press. They usually consist of 3 pieces, the cap die, the socket die, and the stud die. The dies come in a variety of sizes. The size most common in diaper making is size 20. I've found that standard snaps from thesnapstore.com go through diaper layers just fine. They do make long prong snap caps for going through super thick materials, but I haven't needed them.
