I attended a professional conderance the other day for LC's and nurses and physicians and received a brochure about a new milk bank that is opening this spring in Fort Worth!!!
The brochure is requesting assistance in the way of funding - cash or check donations, Volunteers - to work at the milk bank or assist with fundraising events, Equipment donations, and soon- Milk donations!!!
This is a HUGE event!!! Milk banks around the country are struggling to meet the demand to provide preemies with breastmilk and many many cases of organ damage and infection can be prevented in preemies if they are fed breastmilk and not formula in the early weeks of life.
In recent years milk banks around the country have closed because of the lack of support from the community and healthcare providers. Lets help get this one going with a BANG!!

If you can afford a cash donation, 20.00 will provide a preemie with breastmilk for a day. This is a non-profit operation and the money charged for the milk covers only costs of processing and delivery.
