Just got a serger: how do I learn?

the manual is VERY basic.
i've threaded it and had several goes.
i'm ok on straight lines but how do i do, say, a right angle turn?

Easiest right angle turn on a right hand corner is to serge off the end, turn your fabric, and start serging on the next side. There are other ways to do it but that is where most people start. You can knot or fray check the threads so they don't come undone.

Most libraries carry books about serging, a ton were written in the 80's. If you ignore the bad fashions, they cover the basics really well.
