tell me about your embroidery machine!

Do you have a lower end machine? love it? hate it? medium priced machine? I really want to get one, but they are pricey! plus the designs! dh REALLY wants to be able to draw some himself? is that possible with a cheaper one? medium one? advice? ideas? sell me yours?

I have the brother 270d, you can find it online for around $300. i really like it. Easy to use and stitches beautifully, but I've only used the designs that came preprogrammed. You can get an Ultimate box and digitizing software to make your own designs (currently saving up for one myself).

For doing your own designs you would have to get the digitzing software- the one by pfaff is almost $2000 for the whole suite or $800 just for digitizing, but it is really worth it to buy the whole thing. You can down load designs if you have a file transfer assistant- I download from Limewire (you have to pay for this, so it is not illegal) I love my pfaff 2170 but it is very pricey, almost $5000 CDN, but all the fancy features were worth it and DH bought it for me

I have a bernina 180. I LOVE it, it was expensive when new, but now there is a replacement for it, and you can get slightly used ones for about 1/2 of what they retailed for. My mom did this and really liked it. I can digitalize pictures and download them, but that software is all loaded on to our old laptop, that died, so I have not used it for several months (the software). I use the machine with the cards or just for general sewing several times/week. We had a thread a while back about all the diferant embriodery machines, I iwll try to find it
