Nursing has been wonderful (I am producing so much milk that I will be able to donate to one of the midwives at the birth center where I received my prenatal care, who adopted a baby boy several months ago), Ilze was off of phototherapy after only two days, and her papa and I are both head-over-heels in love.
DH is NOT looking forward to the end of his paternity leave; he goes back to work on Monday. Although we feel incredibly blessed that he was able to spend her first week at home, it also feels like it wasn't nearly enough time. We spend most of the day just staring at her.
This morning she turned one week old, and we lit a candle (the unity candle from our wedding, actually) and sang the Latvian birthday song for her.
Also, her website is up and running . . . www.ilzeliepa.com So far we have only one picture up along with her birth information, but DH is planning on posting some more this morning.
I hope all of the other mamas in the group are enjoying their babymoons . . . and for those of you who have yet to birth, lots of love and happy birthing vibes; it'll be your turn soon!
