I'm getting a little paranoid because little Sage doesn't poop daily, and when she does it's not very seedy (and we're exclusively breastfeeding)...Also, she had an episode of projectile vomiting yesterday...and at our 2 month check up, the doc asked if she had a lot of gas because her tummy was so bloated, and i don't think she has a ton of gas...So my questions are, how often are your little ones pooping...and have any of you had any projectile vomiting yet?..and is the poop always seedy? I'm thinking about making an appointment with the family practice doc, but don't want to overreact yet...i was reading in my dr sears book that there is a common problem called pyloric stenosis...and now i'm freaked out a little bit.

Hmm...A poops about 3-5 times a day. It's always seedy, but sometimes it's thicker than others so the seeds aren't as noticeable until I rinse out his potty. The only time he projectile-vomited was when he was on Diflucan and he gagged or it was too cold (straight from the fridge) or something; I felt so bad & mixed every dose after that with ebm and gave it to him slowly with an eyedropper.
How often does she poop, though? Every other day? Every few days? I know there's a range of normal, even with young nurslings.

Suddenly, yesterday, she pooped twice...still not too seedy...And today, she pooped once, not too seedy though...Maybe my diet? She hasn't projectile vomited today or yesterday, so I'm feeling a little better...

Eli is an every other day man with bouts of once a day. Remember that breast milk is almost a perfect food and often babies can use it up so they have little waste to come out. Eli's doctor said that it's perfectly ok for him to go every other day or even once a week as long as "it can be spread on toast". LOL! I thought that was really funny.
Sometimes runny green poop and lots of bloating can indicate that a baby is getting a lot of foremilk.

what if the poop isn't very seedy? she doesn't have green poop, but her poops are orange colored and are absorbed into the diaper (we're using disposables right now), so it seems like they are liquid...i don't see any mucus, so i don't think it's diarhhea...i'm just wandering why they aren't seedy..my ds1's poops were always seedy, but dd's aren't..i'm a worry wart.

My ds wasn't much of a pooper either. At most he is a once a day pooper now. He goes a lot when he goes and I don't notice a lot of seeds either, it is more orange than yellow also. When he has gone more often it seems to be more seedy. I haven't spent too much time thinking about it but after reading your op my thoughts were that when ds has had that typical bf poop it is when it is less poop and they have been more frequent. When he has gone a day or two without going when he goes its very orange and liguidy. I saw the ped this week and she was not concerned. He is gaining about 10 oz a week! At least from 2 weeks to 9 weeks that is what he was averaging!

My ds is exactly 8 weeks today and we do have some seedy poops - definitely daily poops, though. Although peds say that it's ok for infants to skip several days between poops, there's a definite growing population of parents who are finding out that this means there's either a food sensitivity or an allergy going on, usually to one of the top offenders (diary, wheat, soy). That doesn't mean you have to run out and do an elimination diet, but it's just a "huh - something to think about" type of thing. Disclaimer: I've probably talked more about/read more about baby poop on a regular basis than many parents would think is normal (we were just a little more curious because we were seeing it all the time as it was happening into the potty) -- we've done EC with our kids and have been on the big EC yahoo group (lots of experienced ECers, high volume of emails, lots of poop and pee talk w/ respect to frequency, consistency, etc) for a few years now.
Anyhoo... check in with your mama gut - do you feel like your baby is healthy? feeling good? are you concerned about the lack of seedy poops because of a deeper feeling of "something's not right" or are you pretty sure everything's dandy but just a little thrown off by the difference between this one's and your last one's poops?
Let us know what you find out, if anything!
