I was due on Friday (17th) which I hoped would happen b/c I am SO excited, but knew since this was my first I would most likely go late. Well Fri came and went. But sat I started just not feeling right. I have this weird pain that was coming every 8-12 mins. It was uncomfortable but certainly not horrible and I was losing mucous...so I THOUGHT could this be the beginning? But I slept ok Last night woke up maybe every 45 min-1hr with the uncomfy pressure in my back and stomach tightning. This morning I am still having the weird pain that starts in my low back, has a little bit of crampy too it, but eventually goes up and my whole stomach tightens!! Am I getting myself excited or could this be the beginning?? I have tried some things like accupressure points, walking and nip stim, but nothing seems to increase intesnity or timing...is this all in my mind??? HELP!!!!

Something is happening - it may be early labor or it could be prodromal labor which is your body's way of getting ready! It's really hard to say which it is! I hope your contractions progress!

I agree! Your body is gearing up, and every tightening is helping you progress more. Only time will tell if this is the start of active labor or just a "warm up"! Best wishes!

Melissa....how's it going today? Any updates?
Sounds like you're in early labor or pre-labor. It's definitely something. Just take it easy and mentally prepare yourself for what's to come...also, prepare yourself for the idea of this going on for a while. Pre-labor can go on for days and days, and if you're expecting labor to kick in with every pre-labor "contraction," the mental energy can wear you out FAST. Just take it easy, try not to time everything, and distract yourself as much as possible with things like shopping, errands, movies, walks, etc. When you're truly in labor, distractions and sleep won't slow or stop contractions.
Wishing you steady progress!

Well it was early labor I guess. Over the next few days I had contractions that were here and there, but March 21st he arrived. (see newest "Wyatt Joao" post.) Thank you for checking in!
