strawberry hemangiomas?

daph has one of these on the back of her head. It freaked me out at first but after looking it up it seems that is is common in fair skinned girl babies and its supposed to go away by the time she is 5-10 years? Anyone else's baby have this? I am so glad its on the bottom back of her head and not on her face or something. Not that it would matter to ME but I can just imagine how sucky that would be for her as she got older.

Lurking around as my baby is being bounced to sleep. Dh has one on his um, cheek. It's faded now, but the raised bump is still there. Personally, I think it's cute. I wouldn't worry too much about it, if it's in a discreet place, it should fade in time.

Greyson has a birthmark near his temple, and we thought it might be one of those strawberry birthmarks, but it isn't. It's already fading away and you can barely see it now. They said it should go away completely by the time he's 6, but no hair will grow there. It won't be on his hairline anyway. The doctor still wants to keep a close eye on it, because with birthmarks I guess you can never be certain what they will do or perhaps be a symptom of something else.

My 2 yr old is screaming for whatever reason. I have him sitting in my lap as I type this, but he's being pretty annoying at night lately, claiming he's "scared" and crying these blood curdling sobbing type screams. I mean, come on! I don't have much patience when my child is hurting my ears. I'm trying though.
OK, back to the subject at hand, sorry, but it is past 1am here and I just want to go back to bed.

Jude (my 4-year-old) had one on his stomach. It kept fading and fading, getting tinier & tinier. (it even stuck away from the skin for some time) Now there are just a couple small pink pricks of red there now.

Scarlett has a nevus simplex (or "stork bite") on her cheek. It has been there since birth. Not a hemangioma but nice and red on her face. It'll fade with time so not to worry. She has developed a nice dry patch of skin over top of it now making it look like eczema...hmmm, dermatology is fascinating, non?

Alice has one on the back of her head, too. It has gotten larger since she was born, as the ped said it would. I'm glad it's on the back of her head. At first I thought I must have pinched her or something , but the ped assured me. I just hope other people who see it don't think it's some sort of injury! It is small, only about half a centimeter in diameter.
